Making TK/Alche/Smith ranking points decay

Before you guys freak out, I'm just suggesting this. After a few years its going to be virtually impossible to hit the rankings without spending countless months working on it. So my idea is to put a decay on the rankings, not something very brutal, but just something to keep the rankings from getting so high, you need to get 1,000,000 points just to be in 10th place.

Here's what I have in mind, note that I don't know how well Smiths or TK's can earn points

Points would decrease by the following number's each month

Alchemist/Creator: 500 points
Smith: 300
Taekwon: Around 5-10

so, what do you guys think about this?

Characters:
Zraxus (main) Creator
Brave Sir Robin    Bard
Inigo   Crusader
VixPaladin  (for gods sake I'm a priest not a paladin)

I think that's the point. You should have seen the amount of complaining when it was easy to rank a TK.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think it's a viable idea, afterall those on the ranking made efforts to be there, so it's only fair those who want to be there put equal efforts, sure it's not easy, but good things rarely are Icon_wink

OI!

how the heck you get 1,000,000 points just to be in 10th place.

I smell foul play really <_<

Maybe it can be negotiated by half the pint decay idea.

its really needed in my opinion since everyone does indeed need to have a FAIR chance to get ranking.

(sorry to bug you panda ^____^;;; )

Never forget the old days.

no ranker position is at 1m points >.>

Alchemists can get on the boards fairly easily still if they do a few weeks farming of mats for c.whites and have good success, rankers need the determination for it (pretty sure 200 ranker missions for them gets them ranked) and Bsmiths need just over 1000 points to be ranked. No where is that impossible to reach.??

Imo, its really isnt that hard to become ranked, sure you have to work at it, but how do you think others got where they are? they have worked hard too, why punish them?

Edit: For alchemist especially... I remember I got Astaroth ranked with my first order of C.Whites he brewed for me. Not too difficult at all o.o;;

Lowest TK rank is currently at 76 points. Highest at over 300.
By the time you get to 5, it's under 150.

Alch at 1m might seem like a lot but they get a large bonus for completing I don't know how many in a row so it's faster than it seems.

RE: Making TK/Alche/Smith ranking points decay

Alchemist ranking is indeed quite easy if you're in a dedicated brewing build (if you're not, why are you trying to get on the ranker board?).??I don't think any decay is necessary.??There's not even a real market for ranked forged weapons or ranked potions.??Sure, guilds will brew for themselves....but not many people actually go out and buy condensed whites, even ranked ones.??Fish just make it so there's no real demand for them - and ranked forged weapons just aren't popular enough on this server for it to be worth going for specifically (in my opinion).??Ranker TKs are pretty cool, but ranking a TK here isn't even really that hard.??Could probably be done fairly quickly by someone with enough determination.??

I don't remember the low end of alchemist ranker boards right now, but I'd imagine that if a brew-build alchemist / creator got some friends together and farmed up some starsands for a few hours they could get on the boards.??

EDIT: The server just had, what, it's 3rd birthday? The alchemist ranks, then, have gone up about 15,000 per year. At the low end, it's gone up about 3,333 per year. So, how old will heRO likely be when it takes 1,000,000 points to become a ranker? About 300 years old. If RO is still this popular in 300 years (and Pandora's line of Server Hosting robots are still functioning) well...let's discuss it then, yes? Or, rather, let future generations deal with problem (much like the real world, I'm suggesting we push this problem off and let the future inhabitants of the "world" deal with it).
