IMHO casting faster is to be preferred over higher damage, so Dex > Int. Of course you need a certain int to make your spells do damage, but Aaron's stats for boring Sage lvling work for Wizards just as well.
What's the use of being able to kill High Orcs with one SG when they kill you before it goes off??

i'd get int to somewhere like 70-80 with equip (make it a number divisible by 5,that's where you get the bonus), holding dex to like 50 so far. With Hill Winds cards, that are ultra-chap, one-shotting Siromas will be easy. Then i start to push dex until i get a cast fast enough to freeze a rachel sanct 1 mob with SG lv 1 before they slash me into oblivion... then max dex, so I can use higher lvl sg and kill said mobs faster. THEN I would start pushing int again, to like a total of 110-120 and put the rest in vit

Its about balancing how much sp you want or how much weight you want to carry using str. Some also don't like getting the 85+ vit range...

I stand by the belief that dex of course is everything to a sage, but I couldn't tell you crap about wizzies on that

What I did when leveling my sage was 99 BASE DEX, and 105 Total INT (without Bless). I focused on DEX equips and used job bonus + dragonology as my only int bonuses (iirc).

Bolt things for a while, then mob Rachel. If you have a friendly HP willing to tank for you (with exp share off, item share on) you can have them mob up like half the map of anolians and Thunderstorm them to death.

You have to remember this is all just my personal opinion...??but here's what I would do for a leveling build for Sage (PvM only, mostly solo):

Base Stats:
INT: 93
DEX: 99
VIT: 29

Gear:
+8 Survivor's Rod [Dex] - Drops Card
+7 Apple of Archer OR +4 Ramen Hat
+7 Silk Robe - Evil Druid / Marc Card (not really necessary for leveling - you could go with pupa carded armor just for HP)
+X Racial Shields (Valk Shield/Stone Buckler, most likely - you can get by with just using Thara since you'll not generally be planning to get hit)
+7 Survivor's Manteau
+7 High Quality Sandal - Green Ferus Card
2x Nimble Glove

This is fairly high end gear, and you don't need any of it just for leveling (though any you can get would be helpful).??With the gear above, at 99/50 sage, you would have the following:

8242 HP
1433 SP
29 DEF
30 MDEF

383-646 MATK
(105 Total INT)

120 Unbuffed DEX (80% Cast Time Reduction)
