Copy it to the "program files" folder.

Something to report to the GMs? Use the heRO support ticket system!

Wondering what custom content is in heRO? Check out the heRO Wiki!

Thank you! I'm having a shot with VirtualBox now... but I think a .tar archive with all needed files will help quite a few people (especially when a certain file is corrupted, e.g.)

**Edit: Actually Wine seems to work fine, but, alas, the fancy background picture for the installation places itself ABOVE the actual install wizard. I cannot reach the actual install wizard... is there a way to get rid of the image, which seems to be included in the exe (and thus cannot be removed by an easy command)?**

****Edit2: just fixed it by moving the image to the second desktop****

******Edit3: i managed to get RO itself to run, however I can't connect. I found info that wine has problems with DNS connection info, so I'd need to know the IP by wich the server is adressed to, as well as where I can modify the information so heRO.exe attempts to connect to the right IP...*******

Instead of a fourth edit, I decided it'd be better to double-post...

[Ayu's magical edit here]

**Edit: There seemed to be a problem with a false redirection. I got the IP my client tries to connect to via wireshark (extremely useful tool btw!) and created an iptables redirection...**

**Edit: removed post due to stupidity on my side**

I managed to get the correct IP... however now, every time i try to log on I get an instant "disconnected from server" (even before the password is checked)... Any idea for a fix?

**Edit 2: I got it running now... It's a long story, if you want I'll tell it over a beer or two... A hint for those who are desperate to get RO running on diff. operating systems: The port for the real server is 6901! (thanks to Panda for that info, I hope it's alright to post it here...)**

On a similar note I'm trying to run in Parallels. It seems to work fine, but the mouse cursor is very unstable. Is there a way to actually remove it and just work with the system cursor?
