This automated event is a condensed version of Muspel Mondays, lasting only 30 minutes. Players must fight through 3 stages of custom monsters in an attempt to reach and defeat the MvP, Surtur. All maps include an automatic resurrection every minute for any dead players. If you respawn after the portal has closed, however, you cannot re-enter.

Stages

In stage 1, players must kill various monsters (see: Muspelheim Monsters) to collect the custom item Spark of Muspelheim and turn them in with the Gate Guardian NPC in the center of the map (where you first arrive). He will grant exp and zeny for each Spark he receives. The number of Sparks required to move on to stage 2 is gathered as a group, and depends on the number of players attending the event. The total is always equal to 3x the number of participants. For example, if there are 10 players, the NPC would require 30 Sparks.

The moment the last spark is handed in, all players in Stage 1 will be warped to the next area, so keep this in mind if you're training in the area for the exp and not looking to fight the MVP!


In stage 2, players must kill all 12 Selkies that appear on the map. The Selkies are stationary, but powerful, and they have a very fast respawn time. Players must work together to make sure all 12 are dead at the same time in order to move on to the final stage.


In stage 3, players must defeat 4 Fafnirs in order for the MVP, Surtur, to spawn. If the group manages to defeat Surtur, the exit portal will appear. Crossing the exit portal will grant all participants 2 Old Purple Boxes and 1 Enriched Ore. Enriched Ore is a custom item that can be refined into Enriched Oridecon or Enriched Elunium by the NPC Nabhu in Payon (172, 145). You will need 15 Enriched Ores to create 1 Enriched Oridecon or 20 Enriched Ores to create 1 Enriched Elunium. Each process also costs 10,000 zeny.

If, at any point, the 30 minute timer runs out, all players will be warped out of Muspelheim.

For completing the second section and being transported to the Fafnir + Surtur map:

  • 1x Bloody Branch


For completing the event and passing through the last warp portal:

  • 2x Old Purple Box
  • 1x Rough Enriched Ore
