| |
− | In this event, you will fight waves of different types of Poring monsters, all of which have a chance of dropping different items. You will be transported to 4 maps over the course of the event. All maps include an automatic resurrection every 30 seconds for any dead players. If you respawn, you can simply talk to the Event Rep NPC in the waiting area to return to the current map.
| |
− |
| |
− | While you are in the waiting area, equip your Knife and Cotton Shirts. You will also have a couple of base and job levels that are given to you by the Novice Event Registry NPC. You may allocate your stat points however you like. You will gain more levels as you fight the event Porings, so remember to boost your stats as you go! Once the registration period is over, the Event Rep NPC will explain the rules. Then everyone is warped to the first map and receives 10 Novice Fruits to use for HP recovery.
| |
− |
| |
− | The first map pits you against Whisperings, followed by Teddyrings. You have 4 minutes to kill as many as you can. Then all players are warped to the second map.
| |
− |
| |
− | The second map is full of stationary Moorings. There are Moorings around the perimeter of the map, as well as in six numbered pens, which you can access by speaking to the Curious Contraption NPCs along the center of the map. You have 2 minutes to kill as many Moorings as you can. After that, all players are warped to the third map.
| |
− |
| |
− | The third map features 2 waves of Bomb Porings. You have 4 minutes to kill as many of them as you can. Then all players are warped to the fourth and final map.
| |
− |
| |
− | The fourth map is filled with Cupcakerings. You have 2 minutes to kill as many as you can. When that period ends, a boss monster - either Masterpoporing or Master Marin - will spawn. You have 2 minutes to take the boss down. At this stage, you can either continue to kill Cupcakerings (if there are still any left), or you can join the fight to take down the boss. '''However''', it should be noted that if the boss is not killed within 2 minutes, the final wave of porings will not spawn and everyone will be sent back to the waiting room to collect their final prizes.
| |
− |
| |
− | If the boss is killed, the map will be filled with Loverings. Any remaining time left can be utilized to kill as many as you can. Then all players are warped back to the waiting area. Talk to the Event Rep NPC to collect your final prizes (which will differ depending on whether or not the boss was killed). Then everyone is warped to the Event Kafra to store any loot as well as your Novice's 500 zeny (retrievable later from the Banker NPCs in each town). If you want to squeeze every possible zeny out of the experience, don't forget to store your Knife and Cotton Shirts to NPC later!

− | In this event, you will try to guess a Mystery Word. At the start of the event, you will be transported to a map full of Book monsters, each of which is named for a letter of the alphabet. These monsters do not attack you, and they always take 1 damage per hit. When you kill a monster, there is a chance that it will drop a card with its corresponding letter. The chance is 75% for consonants and 30% for vowels.
| |
− |
| |
− | At the beginning of each round, you will need to speak to the Bat NPC in order to participate. The Bat will then give two hints: a category, and the number of letters in the Mystery Word. You must use the Letter Cards you collect from the Books to try to guess this word. The Bat will publicly announce each letter that any of the players guesses correctly.
| |
− |
| |
− | There will always be at least 5 rounds; sometimes there are more if the words are guessed quickly. If you disconnect, you can simply talk to the Event Rep NPC in the waiting area to return to the event map.
| |
− |
| |
− | Each time you guess a letter, you will lose that Letter Card, and you have to wait 15 seconds before you can guess another. You can only guess a letter if you have its card. If you try to guess the word and you are incorrect, you must wait another 15 seconds to guess again. You do not need to have all of the letters in the word to be able to guess it. The letter-guessing timer and the word-guessing timer are also independent of one another, so you can guess a letter and then immediately guess a word, or vice versa.
| |
− |
| |
− | The goal of Wordzzle is to collect as many Pages as you can. Pages are granted in the following way:
| |
− |
| |
− | *1 Page for each round you participate in
| |
− | *3 Pages for guessing a letter correctly
| |
− | *10 Pages for guessing the Mystery Word correctly
| |
− |
| |
− | Once the final round has ended, everyone will be recalled to the waiting room. Talk to the Event Rep NPC to collect your prizes, which vary based on how many pages you managed to collect. After that, everyone is warped to the Event Kafra, where you can store your prizes as well as your Novice's 500 zeny (retrievable later from the Banker NPCs in each town). If you want to squeeze every possible zeny out of the experience, don't forget to store your Knife and Cotton Shirts to NPC later!

− |
| |
− | In this event, you and your fellow novices will run through a zombie-infested map (shaped like "╔") in an attempt to reach the finish line. There are 5 rounds. As you progress along the path, you will obtain Zombie Progression Badges, for a maximum of 10 per round. Your prize at the end will depend on how many badges you accumulate over all 5 rounds.
| |
− |
| |
− | While you are in the waiting area, equip your Knife and Cotton Shirts. You will also have a couple of base and job levels that are given to you by the Novice Event Registry NPC. You may allocate your stat points however you like. These are the only stat points you will have for the whole event, so choose wisely! Once the registration period is over, the Event Rep NPC will explain the rules. Then everyone is warped to the event map and receives 30 Novice Fruits to use for HP recovery.
| |
− |
| |
− | After that, it's all up to you. Each round lasts 5 minutes. You can run for all you're worth from the moment you arrive, or you can try to strategize and see where other players lead the Zombies and try to zig and zag around them. The Zombies are, of course, aggressive, and can also cast Venom Dust to poison players. ('''Keep in mind, the script that awards you Badges will cause your character to be stopped.''') After turning the corner at the top of the map, you will also encounter Ghouls, who are faster and hit harder than normal Zombies.
| |
− |
| |
− | If you die at any point along the path, you are finished for that round and must wait until the next round to continue collecting badges. You can either wait for the recall to the start of the map, or respawn to the waiting area until the next round begins. If you make it all the way to the end of the path, you will be taken back to the waiting room to relax before the next round.
| |
− |
| |
− | Once all 5 rounds are over, speak to the Event Rep NPC to receive your final prizes based on the number of badges you obtained. After that, everyone is warped to the Event Kafra to store your prizes as well as your Novice's 500 zeny (retrievable later from the Banker NPCs in each town). Automated Events are events that can be started by any player with an Event Bag item. Anyone online can participate. HeRO has seven such events at this time, as described below.
Normal Character Events are automated events in which players may use their regular player characters for the event, rather than creating a character specifically for the event.
Below is the list of automated Normal Character Events.
To participate in a Novice Event, whether you are the host or not, you must create a new Novice character within the 5 minute registration period. Good stats to choose for this character vary based on the event type. When you log in on your new Novice, talk to the Novice Event Registry NPC (right in front of you) and choose "Yes please" when asked if you want to join the event.
You will be warped to a waiting area until the event begins. At the end of the registration period, the Event Rep NPC will explain the rules. Then you will be warped to the event map.
At the end of every event, once all items and zeny are stored, you will be instructed to delete that Novice character. Participating in new events with pre-existing Novice characters is not allowed. You cannot leave the Event Kafra map anyway, so there is no reason to cling to that particular novice.
Below is the list of automated Novice Events.
