Homunculus are special pets which alchemists/creators can have. Unlike other pets, homunculus can support the player in battle attacking and using skills. It can also level up. heRO does not have any custom features for homunculus, only an AI. It is recommended that players use this version of the AI, because it is designed to prevent accidental rule-breaking. Homunculus will not normally attack heRO's custom monsters, but there is a workaround. For information on manually adding heRO's custom monsters to the AI, see this forum thread.
To summon a homunculus, the Bioethics skill and an Embryo are required. There is a chance to summon one of the 4 homunculus at random, as well as one of its 2 sprites. They will start in a baby form and grow up as they evolve.
Just like normal pets, homunculus also have intimacy levels, which will allow them to unlock their last skill upon reaching loyal. They will also abandon their owner if their intimacy gets too low.
