A lot of them are because that's how RO likes to save screenshots. This is why every single one uploaded by a magnitude of players are around the same quality.

While you can get around it by taking each screenshot and individually pasting it from clipboard into whatever editing program you desire, this '''significantly''' slows down production speed.

Change what you can get from the .grf, but I just don't see the need for things like "This is where an NPC is" or the headgear screenies... Especially considering how '''incredibly''' fussy I am when it comes to the styling of the headgear screenshots.

Sadly, I am just a voluntary janitor at this. Myself, and the other GMs, are not allowed to play with any extensions, any of the CSS, etc, without specific permission. Frustrating, hell yes, but that's the way the chain of command goes. :P

I'll pass your request on, but that's all I can do without specific permission.

I likely have the power to do it, but we're not allowed to just go making changes without permission. Same works for the forums and other places. :(

I've already passed your requests onto her, as you asked them of me, but as of yet have received no reply in either direction to any of them.

Go ahead to trying to apply a filter to them, as long as they still look close to what they do ingame.

I'd advise this over trying to take identical ones, simply due to the hugeeee amount of work involved. I'd even go to requesting that unless you can easily do it with a filter, that they just don't get touched. The Wiki desperately needs attention in other areas well before they do, and to recreate them would take a horrendous amount of work and time that can be better used elsewhere.

I'm only a Wiki admin. I do not have access to the complete backend. Even then, I will be required to gain permission from Pandora, being server admin. I can suggest Panda upgrade to a newer version, but have no control over if it'll get done, or seen as a priority.

To be honest, I don't have an issue with so many of the images being in jpg. Especially pertaining to the ingame screenshots consisting of the custom gears, and NPC quest locations, as RO screenshots are already stored as .jpgs in the first place, so there's really not much image degradation in these by uploading them here as .jpgs, either.

For mob sprites/item sprites/item description pics ripped directly from the grfs and the such, I can understand why you may want .png, but for the others, .jpgs are perfectly fine.

A lot of them are because that's how RO likes to save screenshots. This is why every single one uploaded by a magnitude of players are around the same quality. While you can get around it by taking each screenshot and individually pasting it from clipboard into whatever editing program you desire, this significantly slows down production speed. Change what you can get from the .grf, but I just don't see the need for things like "This is where an NPC is" or the headgear screenies... Especially considering how incredibly fussy I am when it comes to the styling of the headgear screenshots.

To reiterate "Even then, I will be required to gain permission from Pandora, being server admin." Sadly, I am just a voluntary janitor at this. Myself, and the other GMs, are not allowed to play with any extensions, any of the CSS, etc, without specific permission. Frustrating, hell yes, but that's the way the chain of command goes. :P I'll pass your request on, but that's all I can do without specific permission.

I likely have the power to do it, but we're not allowed to just go making changes without permission. Same works for the forums and other places. :(

Go ahead to trying to apply a filter to them, as long as they still look close to what they do ingame. I'd advise this over trying to take identical ones, simply due to the hugeeee amount of work involved. I'd even go to requesting that unless you can easily do it with a filter, that they just don't get touched.
