Entering the Octopus Cave
To enter the Octopus Cave, you must talk to Ketser in Malangdo Dungeon, which is located just outside the octopus cave (mal_dun01 151, 235). Ask him to open the gate in order to reserve the instance.
To reserve the instance, you must have a party of two or more over Lv 70, and at least 2 members must be within 20 cells of Ketser. Otherwise, the instance will not be reserved.
If you've met all the requirements, the instance will be reserved, and a small instance information window will pop up, serving as confirmation that you can now enter. You can hide this window by pressing alt+b.
Talk to the cave entrance near the starfish and enter the instance.
Octopus Cave Raid
Once you enter the Octopus Cave, you will find yourself in a small hub area with four exits in the corners. You must enter each and defeat the octopus leg at the end of it.
Halfway through each of the four cave sections leading to an Octopus Leg, you will be ambushed by mobs, these locations are the following:
- 1@cash 45, 53 (southwest)
- 1@cash 78, 99 (northwest)
- 1@cash 299, 144 (northeast)
- 1@cash 336, 36 (southeast)
After defeating an octopus leg, you must walk back to the hub area to find the next cave section. However, if all the "Octopus Henchmen" (Small Octopus) in the section were defeated, an exit warp leading to the hub area will be available near the Octopus Leg, which will help save time by not having to walk all the way back to the entrance.
After defeating all four octopus legs, you will be warped back to the hub area, where the entrance to the Giant Octopus' Lair is now accessible just a short walk north. Before entering, it's recommended to buff up.
Octopus Fight Info
The Octopus Fight is rather straightforward. The objective is to defeat the boss in order for it to drop various useful items like any normal boss monster.
Additionally, every 10 seconds starting from the defeat of the four octopus legs, there is a 50% chance that either 5 Small Octopus or 1 Small Octopus Leg will spawn. These will continue to spawn only if there are less than 10 of these mobs in the lair.
Once the Giant Octopus is defeated, everyone in the instance will obtain 1 Shabby Coin Bag, and a warp will appear on the south end of the lair, leading back to Malangdo Dungeon. Anyone that entered the instance cannot re-enter the cave until 1 hour has passed since it was first entered.

While gears and items that ignore defense or magic defense are helpful to take this octopus down, they are generally not threatening or numerous enough to warrant gearing up specifically for them. |

Blinding mist (Wall of Fog) protects targets in it from ranged attacks by reducing their damage significantly. Single target skills aimed at anything in the fog will also have a high chance to fail. It is recommended to use non-ranged physical or magic area skills if having trouble fighting this tentacle while it's protected by fog. |
