General Story Information

Ciar had been left cursed to hearing a ringing in the back of his mind after sounding the Moonlight Bell Replica to raise Lucretia's former lover, Jin. The powerful mage did this to question if the knight was the one to break the fae princess's wings. After learning that he held no memory of such an event, the bell saw to overtake Ciar's mind. It had begun to drive him to insanity, and forced the man to act out of his usual character. This chronicles the short events of restoring the Professor to his normal state.

The Mindless Professor

It was reported that a group of people broke into Freya's Grand Temple, Cheshrummir, late one night. The automated security system summoned Knight and Archer guardians to pursue the intruders, but the automatons lost them as they ran towards the city.

An anonymous witness stepped forward to report to The Midgard Times that the group actually stole one of the sacred daggers in an attempt to destroy the Moonlight Bell in Ciar's possession and save him from the curse. According to the witness, the professor struck the bell with the Holy Dagger, but the instrument proved too powerful and shattered the weapon, sending dark shockwaves that caused Ciar to be knocked off his feet.

Frustrated by yet another bell-failure, Ciar ran off to the warpers, with his group of temple-invaders giving chase. Apparently, the crazed Professor would threaten Prontera Church's priests to save him.

Once in the sacred building, Father Bamph struck the bell in Ciar's hand with a Grand Cross, but failed to destroy it as well. Knocked down once again, and in a fit of paranoia, the professor assumed the High Priest deliberately failed to help him. He rang the bell, summoning a myriad of spirits, before running out of the building. Ciar would use the spirits as a means of persuasion to force the Church's priests to help him.

Undead creatures of all kinds roamed Prontera, as well as an escaped herd of grand pecos from the Church stable. The heroes made the decision to beat down Ciar to stop him. In the end, the Champions Wira and Spolarium -- and a stampede of grand pecos -- managed to knock the professor out.

A bloody-nosed Ciar was dragged away by Reilinn and Cutty Wren while everyone was busy with the bird stampede. No one knew where the trio went.

Demise of The Instrument

Cutty Wren and Reilinn arrived at Ayothaya's square one evening. They informed the group that had arrived to watch the bell be destroyed but that Ciar had run off with the fatal instrument.

The group ran after the crazed professor, who claimed the bell was compelling him to protect it and he could no longer refuse. The pursuit lasted a few minutes, until Reilinn knocked Ciar down. She put her foot on his hand (breaking it in the process), and struck at the bell with a mysterious sword.

The bell shattered into pieces, which broke into smaller fragments, until they were scattered by the wind. Ciar woke up shortly after, with a bloody, broken hand. After his wounds were tended to, he thanked everyone present for subduing him.

The professor lost Reilinn before he could get a chance to talk to her. He decided to return to his mansion in Rachel, only to find out his zeny stash was gone, and Lord Matthew had been imprisoned for alleged turtle shenanigans.

On top of that, he had to explain his blunders to Sir Melot.
