Thanksgiving 2024
Thanksgiving 2024 has a short quest that starts in Prontera, which leads you to Yuno and its nearby fields to hunt the Super Turkey! This quest counts as completion if you are nearby, so don't be shy to party with your friends in a large group to take it down together. Turkey can fight back, especially against commonly seen tactics, so if you are having difficulty, try to vary your skills or utilize some less-seen classes!
For your efforts, there are 2 new costumes available: the Costume Singing Bird or the Costume Gryphon Hairband. You can also get 20 prize medals and 1 Autumn Mouse pet egg!
End of heRO Anniversary Events
As heRO's anniversary ends, the server rates have reverted to normal: heRO will be back to 5/5/5 in rates, with 10x for all OCA cards.
Kaldheim Arena's number of Prize Medals have been lowered from its increased rate: upon finishing all 10 waves of the arena, the number of medals decreases from 30 to 20.
Port Malaya monsters, including Buwaya, no longer drops Prize Medals regularly (though Buwaya Instance still gives out Prize Medals as rewards for all players who are part of the instance when Buwaya dies.)
Database Note
GM team is aware that the heRO database (https://hero-server-db.herokuapp.com/) is currently outdated as it does not have Port Malaya monsters/gears, along with no info on 3 legendary player gears (Fleetly Fading, Bugcatcher, and Unnerfed Hunter Traps). We are still having tech difficulties to get some scripts to work in the post-client update environment. We'll need to think of some new ways to publish information for new items and mobs. It's not heRO's intention to withhold the stats and skills of the new content.
Balance Changes
MVPs' cooldown of skills are down determined by their individual entries instead of cooldown by skills. For example, if a monster has multiple conditions to cast Jupitel Thunder, then each conditions to cast Jupitel Thunder will have its own cooldown instead of Jupitel Thunder sharing its cooldown. This should make some MVPs be more difficult again compare to the large scale AI change that made MVPs significantly easier. In general, this means MVPs have a lot more skills to use, though compare to pre-client update in June 2024, MVPs are still not as likely to lead things off with a skill to start the fight.
Monsters with specific counter attacks will try to switch target to the one who triggered the counter if possible, instead of triggering the counter attack against its current target. For example, say that a Sniper and a Paladin are in a party against a monster where the Paladin is tanking the attack and the Sniper is spamming Double Strafe against it. The monster retaliates any ranged attack with Firebolt. Before this change, the Sniper can freely spam Double Strafe safely, as the monster's Firebolt retaliation will be casted on its normal target- the Paladin. Now, the monster will attempt to use the Firebolt counterattack against the Sniper instead. The tank will also need to re-draw its attention. This change in AI is also a response to make monsters more difficult to fight again since the client update.
"Fleetly Fading" now disables the user's HP regen, following trend of all "red build" equipment.
Bugfixes
- Fixed some location info for some costumes which are inaccurate
Other Changes
- Niflheim Kafra has a new cutin art! #priorities
- Not a bugfix as it's still bugged, but at least now Ring of Friendship warns players that the exp sealing part of the effect is bugged. For now, guess you can get away with a free +3 all stats leveling accessory at lower levels until it's fixed.
