One day King Tristan III discovered that the royal treasury was running low. Being far too generous to raise taxes, the king decided that he would give generous adventurers who donated enough noble status.

The treasury won't accept just zeny, however. In order to donate, you need to make an item called Royal Gold Bullion. 50 bullion will you get you the Basic Nobility (Sir or Lady) ranking. You can go beyond 50 bullion and try to compete for higher ranks. Once your character is a noble he/she will always be a noble. Nobility is character bound and you cannot transfer the gem to other characters. Also, only the noble character will have access to the palettes and hair style

There are two ways you can make Royal Gold Bullion; The Goldsmith and/or The Alchemist. You don't have to pick just one method, you can do both.

The Alchemist

If you have a lot of zeny to spend and aren't one to farm for items, you'll want to seek out the Alchemist in Al De Baran. You can find him on the far east side of town (aldebaran 246, 139).

To actually see him, you'll need to spin your camera counter-clockwise because he's hiding under an arch.

After listening to him try a bit too hard to be mysterious with talks of destiny, choose the "I want become noble" option. He'll ask you for 500,000 zeny per bullion.

If you choose to get all 50 of your bullion from the alchemist, it will add up to 25,000,000 zeny.

The Goldsmith

If you prefer to farm for items and spend less actual zeny, then you'll want to see the Goldsmith in Morroc. There is a building in the southwest (bottom left) corner of town where you can find him.

Enter the building and go downstairs. The Goldsmith is in the back to the left of the stairs (morroc_in 63,40)

Talk to him and pick "Can you make Bullion?" He'll tell you he can if you give him 3 gold and 25,000 zeny (per bullion)

You can get gold from:
Mi Gao (Increase Soil)
Mining
Gift Boxes
Observation Wings
Other Players

If you get all 50 of your bullion from him it will add up to to 150 gold and 1,250,000 zeny.

Becoming a Noble

After you get your bullion, go visit the Royal Treasurer inside Prontera Castle to turn them in. You can find the castle on the very north end of Prontera.

Walk inside and walk 3 maps north. Once on the third map, walk to the left side of the room and you should see the king standing on a platform with a few NPCs next to him. The treasurer is standing to the right of the platform (prt_castle 87, 163)

Talk to him to turn in your bullion. You do not have to turn in all 50 at once. Once you have reached 50, he will tell you to speak to the king (prt_castle 80, 169)

After you speak to the king he will make a server-wide announcement declaring you of noble blood. He will also grant you your nobility gem as a symbol of your noble status.

Ranking

After obtaining the basic rank, you may choose to donate more bullion. If you do this, you can compete to be among the Top 10 donaters and earn a higher ranking. With higher ranks your gem changes color and gains more effects.

When you reach a higher ranking, the king will make a server-wide announcement

Each rank has a different color and additional effect, they are as follows:

1st Prince/Princess -> Principality Gem (3 Def, 1 Mdef & 2 Bonuses)
2nd~3rd Duke/Duchess -> Duchy Gem (3 def & 2 Bonuses)
4th~6th Count/Countess -> County Gem (2 def & 2 Bonuses)
7th~10th Baron/Baroness -> Barony Gem (1 def & 2 Bonuses)

The color of text is the color your gem will become. You CANNOT choose the same stat twice. If you're kicked out of your ranking, your gem color will change and you will lose the additional stat bonuses that came with that ranking.

To check who the Top 10 Nobles are, talk to the Nobility Herald found in Prontera, Geffen, Al De Baran, Morroc, Izlude, and Payon. He is usually located near the Kafra, Warp, and Healer NPCs. In Prontera he stands by the Toolshop.

And that concludes the Nobility Guide
