RE: Let's help heRO by Voting/Reviewing! - GM-Ciar - 10-09-2020 Thanks for the review, obloz! RE: Let's help heRO by Voting/Reviewing! - GM-Ciar - 10-10-2020 Aww, thanks for the kind words in your RMS review, Lockinvar1! Yesterday's piece of trivia more well known by players... Did you know that Pineapple mobs were once supposed to spawn in Faeheim? The Grass Mutant mob even had some as followers, but I suggested the mob be removed as I felt they didn't fit in as well as the other mobs, and could better fit the Faeheim Archipelago region. Today's trivia is light on story. As of right now in the game's GRFs (where game files are stored), there are 1,497 monster sprites. It includes duplicates and recolors such as nightmare pyramid sprites, but there's also never-before seen sprites that are candidates for future regions, events, storylines etc. Reminder that we're trying to get one RMS review a day for the month of October. Show your appreciation for heRO by leaving an honest review on RMS! RE: Let's help heRO by Voting/Reviewing! - GM-Ciar - 10-10-2020 Thank you so much for reviewing heRO, jenAR! RE: Let's help heRO by Voting/Reviewing! - GM-Ciar - 10-11-2020 Thanks tochiro, for reviewing heRO on RMS! There's more number stuff for today's trivia. Newer custom maps in heRO use custom 3D models and textures, but just how many do we have in the game files?
RE: Let's help heRO by Voting/Reviewing! - GM-Ciar - 10-12-2020 Thanks, gakkung, for reviewing heRO on RMS! RE: Let's help heRO by Voting/Reviewing! - GM-Ciar - 10-12-2020 Trivia time! So far, a total of 107 players have started the hero's journey, and 68 characters have completed the quest. RE: Let's help heRO by Voting/Reviewing! - GM-Ciar - 10-13-2020 If you have some free time and would like to give back some love to heRO, why not leave an honest review on RMS? It helps attract new players, which in turn means more people to play with! Meanwhile, it's trivia time! The computer shown below was specially purchased and customized for heRO. It's a rackmount design so it could fit in the racks over at the hosting company (iWeb). HeRO ran on it for many years, but nowadays it's on a virtual (dedicated) computer. ![]() RE: Let's help heRO by Voting/Reviewing! - GM-Ciar - 10-14-2020 Thanks Tulwar, for reviewing heRO on RMS! And now, Trivia time! ![]() Before the advent of Automated Events, Poring Smashes were hosted manually. At first, GMs would spawn porings and manually drop items in them, and it could take a long time to set up the event. But eventually, smash poring mobs were created which dropped cool items, similar to our current smash porings, and GMs would occasionally just drop a few special items inside. Now, they're fully automated but just as popular. Though, sometimes GMs still host special ones with extra items inside. ![]() RE: Let's help heRO by Voting/Reviewing! - GM-Ciar - 10-15-2020 Thank you so much, Paaaapiiiii and iishi11230, for such kind words in your reviews! For today's story, here's picture from a Trials of Heroes in 2007! ![]() ![]() Back then PVP was all done manually by the gm, as was trivia and the Mass Battle. The item part of the ToH was automated however. It was (and still is) done on a map cloned from Alberta. Monster Trial was also already automated, on a different map than we use today. After the Trials of Heroes event, players used to line up in front of the gm to trade in their voucher manually for wings/helm, before the npc that does it automatically was added. Stay tuned for more stories or trivia tomorrow! RE: Let's help heRO by Voting/Reviewing! - GM-Pandora - 10-15-2020 Thank you heroes for all the heartwarming reviews you have left for heRO ![]() |
