the SG maps .... which one ?! - PowerRanger - 08-20-2010 Hi I'm currently rising a SG (lvl 66) and for now three days I'm stuck on the map choose ! I asked a lot of questions to a lot of players in game so I could see the choices and finally made a choice which now ... doesn't sound so great at all. So here I am SG lvl 66 got all skills of the sun and moon. after some advice I decide my map of the sun will be galions ! (of the sun becauz' flee is useless against 5ennemies so i choosed the def boost) but when there with warmth and comfort of the sun I get killed really really fast ! shpuld I have memo it as the moon one ? and so I rised my str to 80 dex 44 (to have enough hit) and luck 22 everything else is 1 ... was it a bad idea (once on the map i realised the suns only buff the vit DEF and not the stat vit u_u) So my questions are : was it such a bad idea to memorize galions ? wich map should I memoriz as moon and stars ? Is my build so bad ? what can I do about it ? Edit : and how can i rentabilize the galion map ? Thank you in advance RE: the SG maps .... which one ?! - Shikari - 08-20-2010 Odins and thors should be your other 2. And to reset your skill its mostly by luck and patience. RE: the SG maps .... which one ?! - azurerogue - 08-20-2010 Thors is a bad choice now that Reflect owns you. It should be, imo, Odin's, Gorge and whichever else you want. Odin's for Small, Gorge for Medium, maybe even Gorge a second time for Large. RE: the SG maps .... which one ?! - PowerRanger - 08-20-2010 yeah but these two requires a high level and a good stuff ! isn't there a map that could bring me to lvl 90 ? I mean is it a bad idea to take a map only to get to lvl 90 ? RE: the SG maps .... which one ?! - Namine - 08-20-2010 Odin is your best chance to get you to lv 90, just because if you got enough support to live 1 Skeggy, it's almost one entire level already. It's your relative easiest bet if you want to use heat to level, or else you'll have to resort to train like TK. RE: the SG maps .... which one ?! - The Legendary Joe - 08-20-2010 Also note, Star gladiators in heat build are extremely gear and Item reliant. You want to kill things as fast as you possibly can, which means having properly carded and refined weapons (all of the weapons SG's can equip are books), Proper defense gears (Deviling or raydric carded garment refined, Racial shields, And properly refined armors shoes and/or hats), And possibly items that'll help minimize the needs for items like Rideword hat to gain back some % of your damage as both HP and SP. Heat works best against boss monsters due to the lack of knockback. However this eats up fish, or other potential resources like crazy. Some of the worst runs of Odin 3 ate up like 200 fish for like 10 skegs (granted EACH hit counts against your SP, so those slaves tend to eat up your hp too). They're fast, but expensive. The cheaper alternative is to get a High Priest, a Professor, And maybe someone to kill the non-boss things that get in your way like frus/skogul/plasma at odins. As Star gladiator in a heat build, You are going to get hit, and get hit a lot, I thought most SG's went for vit for more vit def and Higher HP to tank with, as well as stat resists. I honestly don't think I've ever seen a heat SG Complain about flee. I suppose you could do odins floor 3 for skeggies for the small mob, and a random MVP of your choosing for large. I wonder if heat would set off Amon Ra's Meteors? XD RE: the SG maps .... which one ?! - Namine - 08-20-2010 No, Amon Ra doesn't use additional meteor storm beyond normal meteor storm of once every 3 second at 50% chance against Heat, because it is not a ranged attack. It's just not worth resources for SG to bother with amon ra, because unlike the other melee classes, SG is very hard pressed to survive fire pillar, and slaves are a pain to heat. By the time you have proper support as a SG to handle amon ra, you might as well do gorge or odin. Don't want to sound offensive, but I strongly suggest you to play another class... just that SG has a doomed future since heat is all they got, and that's what they'll lose soon with future updates... RE: the SG maps .... which one ?! - Aaronock - 08-20-2010 I've heard of players doing Owl Dukes with SG's actually for selling the soft feathers. Not a terrible idea really, and doesn't take as serious of gears as Odin's might for a newer player. And Nami, do they really lose Gorge in updates? It seemed like it was going to stay viable... RE: the SG maps .... which one ?! - Namine - 08-20-2010 Hit is 269 (angel), 178 (ghost), 316 (human), and 200 (golem.) You still got half of it, thankfully ghost being your primary target which is the case right now anyway. But then if SG can't handle everything gorge can throw at you anymore, then that very same support group potentially can use someone else to do it better then. iRO has a much easier time since at least you got access to giant fly wings to easily reassemble your support group together once you found the golems and ghosts without angel/human interference. Don't have the luxury in heRO. SG is still viable if you're just fwinging around to hunt ghosts just like right now though. Either way I don't think that SG works as a good first class or a main class. Make SG afterward when you got something settled, if you still want to make it given the highly restrictive amount of places that they can go to... They aren't useless, but nothing beyond a secondary specific hunting machine to me. RE: the SG maps .... which one ?! - azurerogue - 08-21-2010 Use a link (post update) really - is all I have to suggest. Also, Gorge (for me and my undergeared SG) is fine. All I kill is ghosts - still decent XP. |
