activate @mobsearch - Rhino_Man - 12-17-2007 ok so you've heard it on main from time to time I'm sure. "Is Garm dead still? is he up yet?", well if you insert @mobsearch you won't need to hear this anymore because you can find out with one quick command whether the npc is alive or not. It won't tell you where it is and you have to be ON the map to use it, so there's no abuse that I can think of. All it does is tell you if a named monster is alive and if so, how many of them there are. Example: @mobsearch Garm would return: mobsearch "Garm" on man <mapname> if it was dead and: mobsearch "Garm" on man <mapname> Garm 1 mob found if it was alive. Ideally this won't be doing much but it'll save time from people waiting on the mob to spawn and prevent people from wandering around in a map when the monster isn't even back yet. Whatcha say? RE: activate @mobsearch - Aaronock - 12-17-2007 I t hink it has been discussed before and personally, I think a part of finding MVP's is not being sure they are there or not LOL RE: activate @mobsearch - Kyouhei - 12-17-2007 it gives away the coordinate and thats not reali all that cool. i think its cool if there was a command just to see if its alive, but eh....like aaron said +1. RE: activate @mobsearch - Craix - 12-18-2007 it doesnt give the coordinates though...just if the mob is currently alive on the map, you still have to go find him RE: activate @mobsearch - GM-Pandora - 12-18-2007 When a GM uses it it gives the coordinates, pretty sure if we lowered the command to 0 (player available) it would behave the same way. RE: activate @mobsearch - Rhino_Man - 12-18-2007 I've used it on other servers.... unless the command was changed here it shouldn't give monster coordinates. RE: activate @mobsearch - Frogboy - 12-18-2007 i can confirm as well by having used it on a previous server that it would not display the coordinates of the monster when used. RE: activate @mobsearch - Raccoon - 12-18-2007 I believe it was changed on that previous server, Rhino. Im about 85% sure that base code gives the coords of the monster. How to change it, not sure. Try contacting the people and see if they will share. RE: activate @mobsearch - GM-Pandora - 12-18-2007 Having to mod it makes it more complicated and therefor much less likely to be added. Anyway I'm also a believer in the searching for it. MVP have nice rewards, gotta work for them ^_^ RE: activate @mobsearch - Spire - 12-18-2007 Mobsearch will only make it easyer for bloody to steal all of our precious mvp's as hard as it is for my new main to mvp ((I used to play a hunter, now I'm a priest main)) I still don't think that we should activate this :X Edit: Bloody I don't have a problem with you, I was mearly making a joke at how often you mvp, I've never had to fight you for an mvp, nor would I even like to try. I think tis amazing what you do when you mvp. I didn't mean to offend you. |
