that's mostly what confusion is there for, and i've never seen it successfully used, or maybe it just isn't successfully coded to work as it should. confusing damage numbers is pretty much a non-issue when you have the monster hp sitting there, and with noctrl, if the monster were to move away for some odd reason (as i think an AI should behave if a monster's health is getting low), then you'd just follow the monster around as you'd be "locked onto" the monster's path, though perhaps confusion could break that lock.
