About Pets...

I browsed other topics and as I get it, official (Gravity-approved) pets can use some custom skills when their loyalty is sufficient and have their armor on.
The custom pets howewer, can only loot which is actually quite unnecessary since there is @autoloot.

But I have few questions unanswered:

Do official pets attack physically even when they do not use skills and even though they(custom pets) can not use skills, is it possible for them to attack physically too?

And I have found out that on 11/12/2008, kRO Sakray received an update which make official pets give some stat bonuses to their masters, like:

# Poring: LUK + 2, CRIT + 1
# Drops: HIT + 3, ATK + 3
# Lunatic: CRIT + 2, ATK + 2
etc...

Is it possible on HeRO too?

As far as I remember, the second update was not implemented by eAthena yet.

As for pets attacking, BOTH of them (Official and Custom) attack to protect their master or to assist in attacks. They do not use skills, and they steal your own Exp with each sucessful hit.

Plenty of people use the looting ability of custom pets to make mining, fishing and even leveling runs last longer, as they are able to take along extra picks, bait and pots.


Custom pets physically attack, but they take the exp for the damage they do.

Pet renewal only makes sense with renewal where raw stat boosts aren't as big of a deal, while in current mechanics, the str + 1 is worth killing everyone else over. With that in mind, we will not go with renewal mechanic changes for pet system with pre-renewal stat system.
