Make it simple non slotted hats you can get from hatter maybe?

Mario: +2 Str (cause he's the strong one I guess)
Luigi: +2 Dex (cause you need dex to jump right)
Wario: +2 Vit (cause he's the fattest one)
Waluigi: +2 Agi (he's the tall skinny one)

Extra effects for funsies

Mario: Drops fancy flower or Sunflower at small chance (lol fire flower?)

Luigi: Drops random feathers at chance

Wario: Drops Pizza at small chance (what can I say, I love the white pot ripoff and its ITALIAN)

Waluigi: Drops speed pot or attack speed potions at small chance?

La la la.
