Spirits are special attacks for each class, every class, including Dark Knight and Shaman, have at least one.
To trigger the quest, you need to promote one of your guild member of the corresponding class.

my only real pointer is if you want a real "challenge" with the game, don't go blacksmith. blacksmith breaks the game easy.
though the other classes aren't that hard to play with either, so yeah really the storyline isn't that hard to follow though.
if i'm right, you're at the point where you first get to geffen and you're looking for quests to do and you've come across the suspicious thieves, which means you'll be heading to mt. mjolnir and going to the mines.
Yup, that's exactly where I'm at right now. My class is Magician at the moment. Ricky (the MC), Sierra, and the Knight whose name I forgot all have the best equipment you can get for them at that time.
