My Immortal

K so i was listening to My Immortal by Evanescense with a friend and we got in a fight about what it was about. Does anybody know exactly what it is about? I said it was that her boyfriend was a drug addict who she helped when he got sick off of the drugs, then when he was cured he dumped her. He says her drug addict boyfriend died, along with her parents, and she is mourning then with this song. Any comments?
