I already bought it though
and i was aiming towards the final fantasy's for the PS2 seeing as he doesnt have a PS3...And FFX is probably the best final fantasy out there (world explodes in argument). FFX and FF7 were my favorites anyways. However on a side note i know what you mean about FF13, its more of a movie than a video game, the paths are too linear and straight forward and theres nothing to explore other than a set path you have to follow~

Edit: ToS was good however ToV (tales of vesperia) was my favorite Tales release, i have about 55 hours packed into that game and it still has replay value with secret dungeons you cant access the first time through~ Great game, can't wait for the next one.

You guys aren't suggesting correctly. Unless FF13 and borderlands is on PS2, DS, N64 those systems (which they aren't) then it doesn't help him. Also I heard left 4 dead 2 is awesome but its not my type of game. Mass Effect is epic as well and those two are also out for pc

And Ar Tonelico just got a rare reprint so it's possible to find a copy of that game again perhaps, making it *slightly less* rare than it already is.

Random slightly off topic post- Vesperia was hella fun with three other people playing it with me. Its totally awesome like that, and makes it a lot more interesting. I'm actually considering getting it again just for that reason

actually since the ps3 came out most people including me have been going on about GRAPHICS GRAPHICS GRAPHICS and it's annoying to buy games
that have been hyped up so I've been salvaging all the good relics in game stop so let me suggest a couple of good games for you.

RPG's
-Persona 3, 4 (Very common it's an easy find)
-Shin Megami Tensei series (DD Sumoner - Nocturne etc etc.)
-Suikoden 3,4,5 (5 is hard to find, gathering characters to use is fun)
-.Hack Original 1-4 (Pretty hard to find) and .Hack GU 1-3
-Tales of Legendia and Abyss
- Xenosaga 1-3
- Rogue Galaxy - (Pretty fun game imo)
- Magna Carta - (Game with a steep learning curve, but fun)
- Wild Arms 3-5 (Western Anime rpg, simple game mechanics)
- Jade Cocoon 2 (Old game, but people like some pokemon imitations)
- Arc the lad Twilight of the spirits (This series is fascinating)

- Metal Gear Solid 2-3 (for 3 i recommend the subsistence version)
- Silent Hill Games (Psychological terror, an awesome game)

- Fatal Frame Games (A very scary series, i had trouble sleeping)
- Manhunt Series (Convict on the run? who doesn't like this?)
- Onimusha Series (Samurais vs. demons? what else can i say?)

- Trapt (as the name implies set traps, go kill some !@#!@$)

-Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (I highly recommend this game)
-Capcom vs. Snk2 (this too)
-Def Jam Fight for NY (Build your fighter, customize, learn Martial arts)
-Guilty Gear Series
- Tekken 5 (just buy the latest one on ps2)
- Naruto Shipuuden 4 (Pretty fun battle system, annoying narutard though)
- Dead or Alive 2 Hardcore (Bouncing t-ts, lol)
- Street Fighter Alpha Anthology
- Arcana Heart (A otaku game but who cares? it's a fun fighter I rec.)
- Victorious Boxers 2 (Hajimme no ippo end of story)
- Zatch Bell Mamodo Fury (I may not know the characters but i fell in love with it, battle system is superb i rec.)
- King of Fighters series (Buy the 3d one i highly rec.)

These are the only few games i can name on the top of my head d;

Brave fencer musashi, the ps1 and ps2 games of it are both very fun. In the second one, his hair will drive you nuts... (If you play it, you'll know what I mean )

And...Metal Gear Solid... I totally fell in love with that series, played all of them, besides the psp knockoff adaptations of it >>; Truly awesome game, and just the perfect mixture of adventure, and straight forwardness to keep you interested, along with a magnificent plot, and fun fights/avoiding fights.

Play the first one too, please. Its awesome, albeit a bit hard to find anymore.
