Bloodbane Wrote:Video shows im Obviously lagging, I always lag with my shitty single core processor and my built in Gforce 3400 Graphics card,

Dude. I'm calling bull on that part. RO graphically runs fine on a 8mb graphics CHIPSET.

It graphically works fine on a 1.19GHz single core processor with a 10+ year old graphics card that was only "average" at it's prime.

And I still stand by my original post.
If RO is your career/make money from it = pro
Otherwise = amateur.

So, those admins of servers that run off with your money and close the server down, technically they are pro admins.

Pro is a name they use in sports for being top tier and making money off of what you do... BEING Pro is just a term for meaning you're very good at what you do.

Too bad it doesn't just apply to sports.
Applies to most things, even chefs.

Prfessional/pro is a noun. You can't do anyhting with it, or be it without having a verb attached to it, too.

In this case, being is a verb.
So my way applies just as much.
Even if you want to reword it as "This person is a pro *occupation*, then is is still the verb in that sentence. "They are a pro" also applies. Are is the verb. The action of being.

English lesson over.

So ner. =P

Damn, I guess I must be noob to an extreme!
^_________________________________________________^
I've four trans and I only know how to work one of them, nor are any of them are 99/70 and I've been playing since 2007! I've also yet to make a pair of elemental wings, I'm just as poor as a player that's freshly starting out only meagerly scavenging up zeny when I feel the impulse to sell something that I could probably use later just to get something that catches my attention.
MMMMMMMMMMMMM....
OH. I'm also super noob for handing out a pair of free sunnies[1] that I had obtained from an OBB (or maybe it was an OPB....), before they were taken out, to Astro of LoA not knowing the potential lump sum of monies I could've obtained!.. Bloody scolded me for about a week straight.. Icon_sad

RE: measure of being a pro
Okay, if you're going to pull out that argument I'll go ahead and ask whether a descriptive or prescriptive view of language is in use here. If descriptive, then it doesn't matter. The abbreviation "pro" has whatever meaning people assign to it. In this case, meaning being considered better than the average player.

If we're using a prescriptive definition of language then "pro" means whatever dictionaries say it means, namely:

"Pro" stands for "Professional" (which can actually be and adjective OR a noun, Ellie) in this case which is defined as:

?adjective
1.
following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain: a professional builder.
2.
of, pertaining to, or connected with a profession: professional studies.
3.
appropriate to a profession: professional objectivity.
4.
engaged in one of the learned professions: A lawyer is a professional person.
5.
following as a business an occupation ordinarily engaged in as a pastime: a professional golfer.
6.
making a business or constant practice of something not properly to be regarded as a business: ?A salesman,? he said, ?is a professional optimist.?
7.
undertaken or engaged in as a means of livelihood or for gain: professional baseball.
8.
of or for a professional person or his or her place of business or work: a professional apartment; professional equipment.
9.
done by a professional; expert: professional car repairs.

?noun
10.
a person who belongs to one of the professions, esp. one of the learned professions.
11.
a person who earns a living in a sport or other occupation frequently engaged in by amateurs: a golf professional.
12.
an expert player, as of golf or tennis, serving as a teacher, consultant, performer, or contestant; pro.
13.
a person who is expert at his or her work: You can tell by her comments that this editor is a real professional.

I inserted the bolding. So, really, either way you linguistically prefer to describe language pro can mean exactly what the OP intended for it to mean. Don't try to nitpick unless you know what you're talking about.

- AIbus Dumbledore 93/50 Wizard - AIbus DumbIedore 1/1 Novice
- Astaroth 99/70 Creator - Dawkins 99/70 Creator

Albus, you're just ruining all my fun.

I do see lots of unbolded ones that addresses my point to just as valid. The word is open to interpritation, and mine is just as valid as listed above. =P

If you're going to claim that we're going by the OPs set standards to a T, you must certainly think that either PvP or PvMvP is more pro than the other, no? ;D

RE: measure of being a pro
Acting Pro:
A person is pro if they dont need to say they are pro for people to recognise it, that doesnt include friends and guild members, if you yell out on main that your are better then someone else means your the biggiest loser on the server at that present time.

Pro's Skill: if your worse then good your noob
If you can do your role and do it well your good
If you do it well when things go bad then your great
If you can prevent the bad from happening your pro

Although Skill can be supplemented by gears or even a class advantage for the situation for instance a Lord Knight can tank better then the average Knight.
