RE: *RolePlaying Character Background Thread*
hehe, guess I may as well add my characters in~
(also, I'm trying to keep these short to save time....If I posted it the way I wanted, I'd probably take up an entire forum by myself >>; so here's the abridged versions! XD)
Saeris
past - Saeris has always been a bit of a black sheep. Her entire family tree consisted of valiant and loyal crusaders, and even her twin brother aspired to join them. Indeed, even her family name "Gallant" suggested a life of swordsmanship, faith, and discipline. However, while her brother trained in swordsmanship and faith in god, Saeris refused to join him and instead locked herself away in her room daily, finding joy in her growing library of books on every subject and fiction.
In her studies she learned of magic, and of the elusive "sages" that, unlike wizards, relied on both their minds and bodies to manipulate magic and the elements in ways unknown to others. These sages fascinated her, and she soon dreamed of becoming one of them.
Sadly, this did not go well with her parents. They saw magic, sage's magic in particular, as treading upon god's domain. While others in her family did not see eye to eye with her parents, the consensus was clear: Saeris was forbidden to learn magic. Distraught by this, Saeris ran away from home to seek her dream without her family.
She was overjoyed when her enrollment in the Magic Academy in Geffen was approved, and did her best in all her studies. However, it was very apparent that her best was not very good. Saeris barely passed every class, and her peers often teased her for her dream to become a sage. "A failure like you isn't good enough to be a sage!" "Sages are weak anyway. Anyone who wants to be one obviously isn't very smart." Saeris took each insult in silence and refused to give up.
Even as the class failure, she managed to graduate from the Magic Academy (barely) and began her quest to Juno, where she could finally become a sage. This was much easier than she thought it would be, and with her knowledge of the world, not the brute force of magic, she became a sage easily.
Afterwards she continued in her studies and adventures through Midgard, aimlessly searching for her next big hurdle...
personality - Saeris was once a very kind, funny, and generous person. However, her family's hatred of her aspirations, and the ridicule of her old classmates, has made the spirited young girl into a detached, sarcastic woman. While often seen as "spaced out," mistrusting, shy, or cold, anyone who can get under her protective emotional shell will find that the girl she once was is still alive and well, though only among friends.
However, if you don't want to spend hours upon days upon hours getting to know her, getting her drunk has the same effect...
EDIT! Here's Tiv's bio. Compared to the rest of the characters here, I'd say he's lived a fairly boring life
Tiv Pifilloffolus
Past - Tiv is a half demon, the child of a human mother and the incubus that seduced her. He was raised for most of his childhood in a secret, unknown village where humans that sympathize with monsters, and monsters that refuse to fight humans, can live peacefully together. With his inherited incubus charm, coupled with his naturally bubbly and enjoyable attitude, he quickly made friends of all kinds. However, while he had many friends who are not human, he was raised knowing difference between monsters that won't hurt humans, and monsters that will, and it was quickly apparent that he would make a great adventurer.
Eventually he grew curious of the world outside, and of the war between humans and monsters. Seeing this, his mother decided to take him to live in Payon, while his father remained hidden in the village. Despite his charm he generally did not make many friends, knowing what they would do if they knew what he really was. With his natural "charisma" the only ability inherited from his father, and having nothing to do without his friends, Tiv turned to archery in Payon as his primary skill, only to later find that his true skills lay in music. He amazed people with his musical prowess and amazing singing voice, his audience oblivious to the fact that it was really his incubus side that was captivating them. Utilizing this, he became a bard and traveled the world.
Eventually he returned to his old village to see his father and friends again, only to find that it was no longer there. In order to stay hidden, they had packed up and left to parts unknown after he and his mother had left. They couldn't take chances. Tiv, being his usual upbeat self, decided that if he kept traveling as he had been he'd find them eventually, and continued on to wherever his feet took him.
Personality - If there was one word to describe Tiv, it would be "lighthearted." Being serious is almost impossible for him, and he rarely thinks before speaking. The last time he was serious, or even quiet, Nifflheim became bright and sunny and Morroc got snowed out for the day.
He also tends to flirt with almost anyone in sight, regardless of gender. This usually make things very awkward...
More to come~! (yes, I'm serious. I have a lot of characters I give stories too)

RE: *RolePlaying Character Background Thread*
*note* (I find my story a little weak with nothing special but meh )
Name: Pyronic
Age: 17
Family: Unknown
Personality: A yong man who has the potential of becoming sonthing great but is verry lazy and self doubting. He also has a dark side taht he does not like to show people so he tries to keep a smile on. He hopes on day to be know as the smile of death. once you see his smile its certain death. When diguised however he has a verry freindly personality.
background:
Not remembering iff he even has any parents Pyronic was an orphan who hade to steal to survive. In the town of morroc one day searching for something to eat he spoke to a certain theif named Slayer kid.
Upon speaking to this yong theif he learned about the assassins. A group of experts in hand to hand combat who polishes off enemies quick and quielty. From then on he decided he would seek out the assassins guild and become one himself. And so he wandered the desert searching for the guild. He ended up finding the guild and had to endure 4 tests to prove that he was assassin material. succeding in these 4 tests the guidsmen hade explained to him the rules of being an assassin. At first he was sure he could follow these rules... A life or solitude and darkness... he thought ..."Its no tlike my life is any diffenrent at the moment". And so he accepted the conditions and hade become an assassin. Later on he hade crossed paths with an assassin called Neo. Pyronic thinking he was teh strongest of all the asassins challenged Neo. It seemed to be a close match until Neolet loose and beat Pyronic with ease. From then on they joined forces and Pyro was invited into his guild. Pyro felt as iff he was witha afamily of his own...
Until one day,Pyronic disapeared for a while and when he returned he had a friend with him. he hade not seen his comerades for a long time and told himself he should go see Neo. upon seing him he froze. neo seemed a little different his clothes... his strength... Every thing.
He felt he needed to return to the Assassins guild so he went to the desert. Upon entering the guild at the entrance he had seen something. Something that pushed him to train harder then he ever did. He hade seen an other assassin with the same clothes as Neo. He asked him what he was and the assassin closed his eyes walked away into the shadows. "Assassin Cross..." . Pyronic told himself he hade to obtain that power and after hard work and long hours of training he pulled it off. the Valkirye... Rebirth... Transeding.... Its not all clear to him what happened in yuno that day, but now Pyronic has the potential of becoming someone great. He just doesnt trust in his abilities...
At this point Pyronic hides his Assassin identity from the people of the kingdom by wearing a diguise...

RE: *RolePlaying Character Background Thread*
Sae's characters.... PART TWO!
Spooky (god hers is long even when i try to make it short X_x;; )
past - Spooky was born...different. No one could quite place it, but even as a baby she had a dark cloud around her that made people uneasy, and in time the feeling grew and became all but unbearable whenever she was near. Not knowing what to do with their poor, unnamed daughter, they came to the church of Prontera, but the priests could do nothing for the child but pray. While her parents stood outside the church, unsure of what to do, a strange priest approached them. He told them that he was of a secret sect of the church and could help their child if they gave her to him. Having nowhere else to go, they complied and reluctantly gave up their child.
The secret sect she was given to was comprised of the more overzealous and radical members of the church, who cursed her and lied to her that she was a demon reborn as a human, and only absolute faith in god and following the orders of her superiors could save her. She was raised with strict discipline, and took frequent beatings in the "name of god" and "for her own good." Because she knew of nothing else, she took it all in stride.
When she became older, however, everything changed. While on a mission to the Payon caves to "cleanse the world of evil" she met a young swordsman named Ankiseth, who had been badly hurt and barely managed to escape the caves alive. She healed him without hesitation, for which he was so thankful that he insisted on following her. In time, the inexperienced swordsman would become the first, and possibly only friend she ever had, as well as give her the nickname "Spooky" to make up for her lack of a real name.
Her new friendship with someone outside the sect began to show in her work. She started to neglect her duties, and instead of following orders blindly she began to think for herself. One night she decided to go to the sect's library, the one place where she was forbidden to go. In there she found books and journals documenting a horrible plan the sect had to use her as their puppet to "cleanse the world" permanently, killing human and monster alike. They believed that her unnerving aura made her the perfect catalyst for an ancient apocalyptic device of unknown origin. Infuriated, she left the sect, but knowing nothing but her faith in god, she wandered aimlessly until she was given shelter by the solitary monks. There she was given a new life as a 'lonely ascetic," and swore to stop the plans of the sect that had abused her, and all others who shared their goal of total annihilation...
personality - Spooky was raised without a sense of humor. She never laughs or makes jokes, and rarely smiles. She knows nothing of sarcasm, although she is slowly learning, and never says something unless she means it. As such, she is usually quiet and keeps to herself, relying more on body language than words.
Pantaloon Gallant (yes, really)
past - Pantaloon is Saeris's older twin brother, (by fifteen minutes) and from almost day one wished to be a valiant crusader like the rest of his family. As soon as he could stand he held a sword, and trained constantly in swordsmanship and the word of god. Although his sister would always lock herself away with her books, they were very close. When Saeris said that she wanted to become a sage, he was the only one who stood up for her decision, and when she left, he was beside himself with grief. Afterwards his aspirations changed from becoming a crusader to finding Saeris, and as soon as he could he began his quest to reunite with his sister.
However, he has no idea what he is doing at all, and he's not the brightest person around...
personality - Pantaloon is...well, he's an idiot. He's that guy in the group that has a short attention span and a small memory bank. He always laughs last, because he's always the last one to get the joke. His heart is in the right place, though, and occasionally he has his moments of clarity. Don't get your hopes up, though.
'Tis all for now, until....PART THREE!
Yes, Pantaloon's story is really short, mostly because it's all covered in Sae's backstory in my first post This is my first time RPing multiple characters, let alone having the independent sibling element, so bear with me if they start getting short and stereotypical.

RE: *RolePlaying Character Background Thread*
Anastasia and Machiavelli
Once upon a time, there was a lonely assassin named Anastasia. She was always sad and violent, because of the many problems she had in her life. She would just travel to many places with the help of Kafras, killing monsters at every place she went and never manage to settle down for long in one place. One day, she arrived in Morroc and she saw a little super novice named Machiavelli who greeted her with a simple hello. Finally, Anastasia decided to sit down and take some time off from her wandering to talk to him. After a while, they became best of friends and they just spend a lot of time together, talking and hanging out. Life has changed for her, as she became less bitter and became happier. So, Anastasia decided to make Morroc her home until she decides to move again, so she would be able to see and talk to Machiavelli on daily basis.
On one nice day, there was a little thief named tai-tai who ran into Machiavelli in Morroc. As he was helping tai-tai, Anastasia got out from the inn where she was staying in. Soon, the three started talking about everything and became very close friends. One day, Anastasia decided she needed a partner to finally settle down and hoped to get married. Two or three suitors appeared that day and after she told Machiavelli about the suitors? insanity, he took the chance to ask her if she was interested in marrying him. She thought about it for a week and eventually said ?yes? to Machiavelli while rejecting all the other offers.
After their marriage, they became inseparable and they looked after tai-tai as their adopted daughter. It was a happy family with a lot of laughter and insanity, but as life goes, everything came to an end with old age.
A few centuries passed by, the two lovers meet again through destiny. Anastasia, a young acolyte, ran into Machiavelli, who became a swordsman, in Morroc. Once again, they spent a lot of time together and gathering zennies to get married in this present life. After a lot of hard working, the priestess and the crusader exchanged vows in front of their friends. Strangers too attended that wedding and all had a great time. Eventually, they finally adopted tai-tai who reborned as the adorable priestess mira. Just like before, they are a complete family supporting one another through good and bad times, taking care of one another and spend time together like just like they did before.
Semper vigilans.

RE: *RolePlaying Character Background Thread*
I think its time for old Sek boy to post up his history and future
~Sekaru~
Where am I? Who am I? Who are you? These were Sekaru's first words from birth. He can still remember the day he was ushered in to this realm. It was a cold day much like the winter's of our own realm, it was snowing where he was and he was desperatly walking in search for a place to sleep. He walked for hours and found two houses close by eachother, although both doors were locked. He kept wandering in search of something and then he found it. Garm a marvelous ice wolf was watching him from afar and had now had come to speak with the boy. "What are you little one and why are you here" asked he. Sekaru could only reply "I do not know of past or present all I know is you are magnificent". no matter what the wolf asked Sekaru could only reply this, it was as if someone errased everything but that moment. Garm took pity on the boy and sent him to morroc to become a thief and to train to one day make the boy his aprentice. So Sekaru went to morroc and took the test to become a thief. He passed just barely and moved his journey to prontera in hunt of new challenges. there he found a man who told him there was another stage beyond that wich he had reached and the man told him about the lighhouse where he can achieve this stage. Sekaru was very proud of his strength and sought to tell Garm how he was growing stronger with each passing day, but thats when it hit the boy. He did not know how to return to his mentor so he wandered the desert in search of a lead or a way to find him. He went so far that he reached the lighthouse of wich he heard. So he entered and found nothing, thinking it was all a lie he went down and found a little concealed entrance, he wished to make that his new home where he could spend eternity but when he walked in he found that it was the place of wich they spoke The Rogue's Guild. after making short work of the tests blasting through the physical examination he made it as a rogue, A lone fighter who cares only for himself. He was still angry that he could not find his mentor but he decided to grow even stronger so that when he finds garm he could vanquish him like Garm always told him to long for. after a few months of journying Sekaru grew tired of this ridiculous journey he was thrown onto and decided to take it easier and go visit prontera again. He made friends with a sin down there and they began journying together. The sin overhearing him speaking to himself one night told him he knew how to find the beast Garm so he brought him to a place known as Lutie. There Sekaru was shocked and appaled at the sight at wich he beheald. Many other adventurers were working together to try and kill garm. Sekaru tried to stop them but he couldn't and garm fell before him. Out of rage Sekaru confined himself and left everyone behind and began to grow strong again trying to find a way to avenge Garm. then one day he was brought to the realm of valkaryie where he was judged and sent back to midgard to begin anew. "Where am I, this all seems familiar" he opened his eyes to see garm once again before him. Garm told him only "I do not know of the future for you all I do know is your magnificent"
Personality: Likes the shady spots and tries to stay out of the sun as much as possible so he can remember his icy past. Loves the cold and ice and will do anything to grow up to be like Garm. Obsessed with Ice
Yeah long I know but thnx for your time guys
Ice, Honor, Pride, HeRo...

RE: *RolePlaying Character Background Thread*
well here's a go...(dont expect anything I aint no story teller just bored)
Swift was born in the small town of Izlude, Izlude at the time was well known for its swordmen spread around the world, from Crusaders to Paladins and Knights to Lord Knights. Swift could only dream that he could become a famous Lord Knight, for the family he came from was poor. One day Swifts' mother and father where accused of theft, the claim had come from a powerful Knight by the name of Akaros, they where hanged on the spot, in front of his very eyes. He was now an Orphan. As Swift grew he began to distance himself away from the swordmen, he no longer believed in Justice nor Rightousness for he had seen how the poor had suffered, his heart grew cold, he had became a theif. He promised he would get his revenge one day. As an orphan theif he traveled many cities looking for a way to achieve power until he ended up in Prontera, a Capital city. It was beautiful, it had reminded him of when he was a child longing to be a swordman, he had soon realized why he'd walk there, he had heard of recent homicides. He wanted to find this murderer and learn his art. He wanted revenge.
After searching through allies and dead ends Swift was caught with the killer, before he could realize what happened the killer had already sneaked his sharp blade of his katar to his throat. The killer said "any last wishes?" in a raspy voice, as soon as he had realized what was going on, Swift replied, "I want to be you." The Assassin grinned, "your training has already begun."
His trainer was an Assassin nick-named "SilentAssassin" he was one of the best, trained in every art, from Cloaking to Hiding, to special Sonic Blows and more. Swift was now an assassin, but he had felt the power he achieved was not good enough, his master told him, he could go no futher. But Swift didnt believe that, he knew that he could be better, he felt there was more. He had already surpassed his master, but he felt there was more to unleash...

RE: *RolePlaying Character Background Thread*
*A battered, torn journal entry lies on the ground*
A look on my life
"I came from Morroc originally, my father was a rich spice trader dealing in just a bit more than spices. My mother I have little recollection about, she wasn't around much either, getting drunk at all the local inns...I never knew what he saw in her, or what I saw in both of them. I learned the streets at a young age, playing silly games like Rock Tag with other local kids. I had a place to go to, though I might as well have been in a prison, it sure as hell felt as cold as one."
"My teenage years were alot different, I trained myself in the art of fighting, pissing off Pickys and drops with my rock throwing and dagger-swinging. I knew a good supply of vendors in Morroc, so I was able to borrow food from them with relatively no trouble, and finally escape from my hell hole."
"I then saw what would be the deciding factor in my life. That night, I glanced upon a Thief wandering about the city, looking for his next score. The look of sheer intent, his posture, his intense want- all of it behind a cocky smirk. As he approached the mark, I realized it was my drunken mother. He walked up and bumped into her casually, almost knocking the flimsy woman down. My eyes followed his hands, noticing exactly how he pulled the leather-bound book off of her. As she opened her mouth to screech in a strange tongue, I realized I didn't need them, and that they didn't need their money."
"I did what I finally had to do, and abandoned my biological mother and father. I decided to travel about to get stronger, see the world, meet different people, steal from said people."
"I went back to Morroc to satisfy my curiosity, and I saw what was left of my father's large home, nothing but a pile of rubble. I asked around with my old contacts, and it turns out the book the thief stole was my family's financial information. Once that was taken, my father went bankrupt, and his special clients weren't too happy with him losing their contact information- they had the house stormed and destroyed, luckily he moved somewhere else. Luckily, I got the information from the vendor, and decided to drop by. I saw my mother writing up papers for the different alchemical mixes for potions, and I saw my father being just that. a father to what looks to be my sister."
"It turns out they thought I was lost in the raid, that they may have killed me since I was known to play around outside. They made a gravestone for me, but I decided not to look, that would be way too creepy."
"I was glad knowing that they finally wriggled loose of the grip that excessive amounts of money had over them. But since I was "dead", I could never use my name again, so I adopted the nickname Plague."
"I've decided to join the Rogue's Guild to expand my horizons. Life has been really good since then, a few marks here and there, some equipment from poor people who dare challenge me in brawls, and a group of people that I can trust with my life, Angel Empire- my family."
"I've been traveling ever since with my family. I've done my best to not be as bad as I used to, but I can never make guarantees."

Heimdall -Protector of Asgard-
Heimdall is the god of light, the son of nine mothers (variously given as the daughters of Geirrendour the Giant or of Aegir). He was born at the end of the world and raised by the force of the earth, seawater and the blood of a boar. Because of his shining, golden teeth he is also called Gullintani ("gold tooth"). His hall is Himinbjorg, The Cliffs of Heaven, and his horse is Gulltop. Heimdall carries the horn Gjallar.
He is the watchman of the gods and guards Bifrost, the only entrance to Asgard, the realm of the gods. It is Heimdall's duty to prevent the giants from forcing their way into Asgard. He requires less sleep than a bird and can see a hundred miles around him, by night as well as by day. His hearing is so accurate that no sound escapes him: he can even hear the grass grow or the wool on a sheep's back. At the final conflict of Ragnarok he will kill his age-old enemy, the evil god Loki, but will die himself from his wounds.
Now, after years of the Ragnarok has been finished, his soul entered in a vassel of flesh and blood to continue his task to protect the peace of the creations of his father (Odin) in Midgard.
Wiouth his powers of god, his destiny is very uncertain... but one thing is very clear, he have a one mission and he do anything to protect Midgard.
