Introduction to WoE:SE

The second version of the War of Emperium system places much more emphasis on defensive strategies and differs significantly from the first version. Its most notable feature is the redesigned maps to mimic the styles of Juno and Rachel. Unlike the first system, these maps eliminate warp portals and precasting, making the entire fort a single, continuous area. Additionally, defenders are provided with new tools and advantages to help them more effectively protect castles built in this new format. Due to the size of the castles, Link Flags or LFs, were introduced to help players maneuver around the map easily. heRO have also enabled Nobility Mount in, based on gameplay from Rental War of Emperium.

Players can get to the WoE castle by selecting Special --> WoE Castles --> Current Active Castle

WoE Times

Currently, the weekly automated War of Emperium takes place every Saturday 10:00 AM Eastern (EST) time, server local time. GMT -5 (Montreal, Toronto, New York, Boston, Detroit, Miami, Philadelphia, Washington DC)

General Mechanics for WoE

Emperium

Once a castle's emperium is destroyed, all players inside the castle that don't belong to the guild that conquered the castle will be warped out. The player that dealt the last hit against the emperium will claim the castle for their guild. In addition to its ability to be damaged only by guilds with the "Official Guild Approval" skill, the emperium can only be hit by normal attacks. All other skills will have no effect on the emperium with the exception on the following:

  • Gravitation Field [Note: temporarily banned as of 2026 for technical issues]
  • Pressure/Gloria Domini
  • Sanctuary (can heal the emperium)
  • Summon Flora (The plants' normal attacks can damage the emperium)
  • Summon Homunculus (Homunculi normal attacks can damage the emperium)

Upon conquering a castle and warping non-dominating guilds out, these guilds can return to it right away and challenge the defenders of the castle. Once the War of Emperium ends, the guild that holds the castle last can keep the castle until the next WoE when other guilds may try to take it.
Inside WoE castles, party members, guild mates, and guild allies cannot attack each other. Additionally, guild members cannot be expelled inside, and alliances cannot be broken by members inside a castle.

Mechanics for WoE SE

Barricades

Barricades can be built by the defenders. There are 3 sets, and must be built in a specific order. From the Emp room, outward, you'll start with Barricade 3, then 2, then 1, located in the areas marked with a purple circle. After you complete building the Barricade, you'll be able to rebuild the Guardian Stones.

Building a Barricade on heRO is different, there are no required items. The barricade repair kit in your inventory is used at the catalyst instead of items like trunks, oridecon, etc. When you start building, the game will ask you a series of questions, and you must choose the right answer for each one. Failing an option means you will need to start over. The answers are found below:

Question Answer
The support FRAME is badly damaged: Fixing this part is a top priority. Trunks
The damage to the gate has caused all these CRACKS. You'll have to weld them solid somehow. Steel
Now you need to make sure that the gate is held together pretty SOLIDLY. Emveretarcon
It looks like the gate's overall ENDURANCE needs to be reinforced with something. Oridecon

Guardian Stones

In each SE castle there exists two guardian stones located in different rooms prior to the fortress gate & first barricade. Guardian stones will summon guardians over time, and as long as at least one of the guardian stones remains standing, the fortress gate will be invincible and prevent attackers from progressing into your fort. The guardian soldiers of SE are considerably stronger than those of the original WoE. There no longer exists Bow Guardians, only powerful sword guardians. These guardians are similar in power to the ones found in Volcano Thor, though these guardians do not use any offensive skills. If the guardian stone that summoned the guardian is killed, the guardian will die.

Flags

Placed throughout the castle there are 12 "Link Flags". The Link Flags provide fast movement throughout the castle for the defending guild. Each of these 12 flags have a pair located usually in the back of the Emperium room. Each pair of flags has a matching name, and by using these flags, you can travel directly to and from the emperium room and each of the flag throughout the fort. The flags' corresponding destinations are as follows:

In addition to the Link Flags, the flags directly outside the castle allows the guild members to warp inside. This is just like existing WoE flags. These flags take you past the final barricade into the emperium room, and usually close to the Link Flags. A defending guild can use this to warp into the castle and then re-deploy at any needed location in the castle without fear of harassment from enemies.

Only members of the guild who own the castle can use the flags, they cannot be used by allied, rival, or miscellaneous guilds.

Stronghold

There is a stronghold area (10-1) for the defending guild that can be accessed from the flag outside the castle. This stronghold area has a Kafra for storage access and a Warper who can warp you to areas in the castle.

Rewards for WoE SE

Brand new WoE:SE chests are implemented, which allow players to have a chance to obtain both the old FE and new SE God Item parts. The new SE God Item parts are used to craft our 2 new God Items:

Full list of the required ingredients for God Items can be found here. Please note that Asprika is customized on heRO and does not reflect official stats. For more information, please refer to heRO DB.

How do the new SE Chests work?

For WoE:SE, a simplified 10 Treasure Chest system have been implemented. Chest spawned at midnight is fully randomized, and the amount is still based on your Eco (Eco/5+4), for a maximum of 24 at 100 Eco.

The chests have the following 10 possible drops:

Players now have a chance to progress their FE and SE God Item creation on every chest. The drop rates are specifically adjusted such that the chance to get any of the new God Item ingredients for Asprika and Brynhildr are the same as getting any God item ingredients in WoE:FE, adjusted for the change in number of possible chests in WoE:SE.

As a final note, Rental War of Emperium will continue to use the OLD WoE:FE chest system. They will not reward SE chests.
