Happy Thanksgiving

For those who celebrate it in the United States, hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving dinner and had lots of Turkey. How about some in heRO too?

There is a new, simple quest in /navi Yuno 185/218, where you can craft multiple Thanksgiving themed hats and costumes. This will be a permanent addition to heRO. Some of them are old hats where this will be their new home, while some are brand new! The available headgear are:

Completing the quest will require hunting Turkey, a new low-level mob available in yuno_fild05 (60), yuno_fild04 (30), and ein_fild06 (10). The Turkey also has a direct headgear drop along with a new card!

Again, these are permanent additions so you can take your time to slowly assemble the new headgear and costumes at your own pace.

Prize Medal Shop Update

Not a lot of people may have read the page and this is on us for not promoting it more: but there's LOTS of headgear and costumes you can get via Prize Medals. One of the shop in Yuno is supposed to to have all of the "7% bonus damage" racial series in the shop but apparently it was missing a few of them. In the past, it was because the shop was "out of slots" but with the client we are on, this is no longer the case. They have all been added to the prize medal shop accordingly and the wiki has been updated.

As a result of this, a few monsters who dropped the items directly + other quests will no longer drop it. You must use prize medals to trade for headgear of this series, going forward.

Besmal and Umbra will have new drops to make up for their total lack of reason to hunt them due to the item lost in the future. Vesper still have End of the Horizon, and Creamy Queen is an easily reached MVP who's actively camped with Sylphid Manteau as well, so these two will not have any new item updates. Stumper we will see if it needs an item.

The Costume 20th Anniversary Deviruchi has been added to the October shop if you missed this year's Halloween.

Hatter/V4P Hat Changes

In our slow and endless pursuit to find permanent homes for lot of V4P headgear so that they are obtainable without waiting for events, we have shuffled some V4P headgear out of the V4P Gear Box and into Old Red Box (Hatter) instead.

The following headgear are removed from Hatter/Old Red Box as most of them have been on the Hatter list for a very, very long time:

Newly added to Old Red Box as replacement at the same drop rate:

V4P Gear Box will lose the following. Note that the intention is for some day the list to be empty and we don't have V4P Gear Box anymore.

All of these headgears are available ingame already via monster drops, in another box item (Irish Topper), newly added in quests this update or newly added as monster drops this update; see below.


Costume Crafter Update

  • Turkey Feather Band is added to Lutia Crafter (rank 1)
  • Ancient Scholar Hat is added to Nobility Crafter (rank 2)
  • Bra Hat is added to Faeheim Crafter (rank 3)
  • Vioopnir Star is added to Nobility Crafter (rank 4)

Monster Changes

  • Giant Octopus from Malangdo Dungeon Instance (different from Malangdo Culvert Instance) drops the new "Bra Hat" at 15%, plus an additional chance as MVP gear drop at 20% (for an effective drop rate of 22% to get 1 or more per kill). Why does the Bra Hat show up there? Go to the instance and you will see.

Quest Changes

  • Peco Breeding Quest bonus headgear has been swapped out again from Grand Peco Headband to the Chicken Beak. We apologize for this oversight as it was due to miscommunication between myself and Ciar who was coding the Thanksgiving hat turn-in. Please talk to the NPC to retroactively get this reward if you did NOT get the Grand Peco Headband from this quest.
  • Juperos Ruins History Quest not only produce the Scotts Power Pack from anniversary each repeatable turn-in, but it also has a 10% chance to create the CD In Mouth
  • Dominoes Cap Quest will also give you the Pizza Hat upon quest completion. This bonus item is retroactive: if you have completed this quest in the past, you can talk to the NPC to pick up the new hat immediately.
  • The Sign Quest will no longer reward the Bloody Angel Wing Ear but instead give a 6th Enriched Oridecon and 6th Enriched Elunium.

Quality of Life Changes

You may have noticed in some of the screenshots earlier this post that some quested items or items purchased/exchanged ingame have a new line "Obtained via Ingame Quests/Stores" in its item description. We believe this change will help in the future if anyone sees an item in our DB Searcher and wonders where it is obtained. This should solve the question for newer players if they are wondering an item is actually released, or if it's an unobtainable item shown in the database. As heRO has 20 years worth of quests, this is a work-in-progress update. We are very likely to be missing some items. If you see any that are obtained via ingame stores/quests and it does not have this line, feel free to report it in our Discord channel or inform a GM directly so it can be fixed in future patches. Note that items that are dropped directly by monsters, or obtained via a "Box" item (such as Hatter's Red Box) will not have this line, since the DB already tells you how they are obtained.

  • Enriched Ori and Enriched Elu no longer states they are "only usable" at Payon as it's no longer true
  • ToH Voucher directly tells you where to exchange it in its item description so we don't get asked every month

Bugfixes

  • Changed some item desc grammar whenever it shows up from one of the other changes in this release
  • Quarana Candy now properly mentions it gives you Inc Agi level 5 (Brasilis quest reward consumable)
  • Inc Agi Scroll no longer does the 15 HP check (we modded this in Inc Agi skill)
  • Event Bag leads you to the right place to go now in item description (it was wrong due to Pront remodelling)
  • Drooping Tanee version confusion between 2 diff tanee hats. They should be standardized now
  • White Silk Wings and Black Silk Wings have the word Costume in it properly
  • Fixed some reported boxes having inconsistent weight. They should be 1 if it's etc item, or 20/100 if it's a costume box/gear box
  • Costume Black Frame Glasses no longer shows a slot it does not have
  • Cotsume White Kitten Ears will show as Costume White Baby Cat Ears to align with database
  • 1 of the 2 Costume Blue Ribbon is renamed Costume Cute Blue Ribbon (to join the other recolored cute ribbon costumes series)nevermind, still messed up

Final Word

If there's anything that's not working according to this changelog post, please report it to a GM. Like any new items release, GMs have the right to change the gears effect or fix unintended interactions/bugs accordingly.
