heRO Patcher Update (.exe) (Windows)
The heRO Patcher Update will enable a WoE-tailored GRF, but it can be used outside of it. Note that we will not provide ANY support for this outside of WoE castles.
Verify your game is fully patched by running the Patcher twice.
Run the heRO Patcher Update.exe and install it, targeting the hero folder as the location.
Run the heRO Patcher Repair Tool, located in your game folder. Select Clear heRO Patcher Cache by typing "1". Exit the repair tool.
To toggle WoE Effects on and off, you run your new patcher after installing the update, click the top left hamburger menu, and click "Toggle WoE Effects".
It will pop up a dialogue box indicating if the GRF is turned on or off.
If your firewall/Windows Defender is causing problems, you should whitelist the heRO patcher. See this page for instructions.
Linux user: Please download the heRO-Installer, then manually download the heRO-Patcher for Linux. Then, replace the default patcher with the Linux one since the Installer comes with the Windows patcher by default. Linux Patcher removed until patch server migration is completed.
