And use a strong password! Lenght 8 without punctuation should be enough. The mnemonic helps, but keep a handwritten copy safe while you are not confident RE: Account safety discussion - Jens - 06-07-2014 (06-06-2014, 11:07 PM)Rankin Wrote: I used to always joke about how people were not this stupid. Stop proving me wrong. See my long-time sig, mate. RE: Account safety discussion - GM-Pandora - 06-09-2014 As others have explained, the imposter would invite the person into a chatroom, there was only 2 people in there, the victim and the impersonator, who would write some small comment followed by lots of spaces spaces spaces until a line break is reached and then they manually wrote GM-Pandora: bla bla, which made it look like I was speaking in the chatroom, but really it was just him writing my name and pretending a GM was there. After getting their skype info, the impersonator would send the victim a software that allowed him to see things going on on the victim's computer, and they would ask the victim to log into their bank account to 'check their balance' somehow for a future 'gm salary'. If the person logged into their bank account he would then know their pass for it, the object of course being to get money for himself. As far as I know he did not manage to get anyone's money. He also asked the people to log in game, thus getting their id and pass, and then going on said account to try to trick more people. You can appear from nowhere as a novice and say "Hey guys, I'm a GM! can you please give me your account because I need to check some bug in your gears. LOL" Good news is, as soon as a GM is out of GM hide on a GM char, you can @who them, and there'll be a great big GM status and GM level next to their name in the results. No magic appearing proof of GM for frilldora users. :D Scam Attempt please look into it - tylardenoche - 06-20-2014 So there was this guy Twizn2 novice with a GM-Pandora ID in this chat room, posting images. He asked me to download and install skype and also do an /exall,hope some GM can iptrace/ban him please.(special thanks to gwen and moonlight they checked on me while i was in the chat room <3 ) |
