Will heRO be getting Renewal when its out?
Right now it's really the only thing i'm looking forward to.

Thus far, RO Renewal is a completely different game from the current RO.??It is less exponentially-based in its mechanics.??It is also less grinding in one spot and more level-dependant.??Gearing your character means completely new things in RO Renewal, as does character level.??In the current RO system, level doesn't mean all that much aside from needing a certain base/job level to finish off an end-build for a character.??Monster level also currently means nothing.??There are high-end breakpoints which almost every character of a certain type wants to hit.??Exponential increases in damage as you hit high levels in damage stats make high stats vital to success in certain classes.??

You lose much of that in Renewal. In fact, almost everything changes with Renewal.??It will be like playing a new game.??Some people might like that, others won't.??So, in short, yes there's a big decision involved and it will be a hard one to make - even harder before all the final details are released.??

EDIT: Really, I *am* excited to see Renewal... but I play RO because I like it now, not to see it completely changed into something new.

besides, i would imagine it might mean having to do a server wipe entirely in consideration of the new mechanics, though i'm not entirely sure on that. i can say it'll probably make a lot of trans people irate at the chance because their builds will not be as good as they are now.

and like ellie said, it would take a ton of work to implement third classes with the current system, figuring out how to balance them properly based on the way the stats work (because multiple stats can affect an attribute like attack or magic attack it's not just a simple conversion of percentages of the skills or what have you).

personally i'd like to play on a renewal server when they eventually do come out mostly as a comparison to non-renewal servers.

We don't custom-balance the current RO mechanics - why would we need to custom-balance Renewal?
