It's pretty hard to get to though what with the undergroundedness.

Technicians and scientist have access, it only takes 1 bad person amongst those hundreds of workers.

True but extremely well vetted and there's quite alot of safeguards.
I'm not saying it's totally out of the question, just saying really difficult.

Diplomacy is the art of telling people to go to hell in such a way that they ask for directions.

This means I can go pillage and stuff since we're all going poof in a few years, right? Right? :D

Anyway, I'm not too worried about it. I accept the possibility, but refuse to be affected. If it's going to happen, it's going to happen. There really isn't much we can do about it in this sort of situation. They've been trying to get approval for, what, 14 years or so? They've obviously got it, and they're going to make the most of it before any sort of political or environmental parties find a reason and/or way to throw a wrench in their plans. Again.

tl;dr: Come what may. Apathy can be a beautiful thing in the right context.

^this.

Never was a fan of ignorance is bliss philosophy though.

Lets put it this way! From CERN official website:
Although stable microscopic black holes are not expected in theory, study of the consequences of their production by cosmic rays shows that they would be harmless.

^IF THEORY IS WRONG WE ARE PHUCKED, hows that? Icon_biggrin

Theory is speculation not fact. Many theories were proven wrong...like the world is flat, the sun revolved around earth etc...let's hope this one isn't...

RE: Literal end of world...maybe

well from what i believe panda, that even though it is 27 km, there is usually only 1 access shaft for these underground facilities... please not that 27km is the length of the accelerator...

and again i know although they are vetted carefully, leaks happen...

well shait happens anyway mate... so yeah, let's have beer... well i can't be in montreal currently, but maybe when the black hole swallows the earth Montreal and Jakarta will be just close enuff that we can share one... lol...

i myself don't really like "ignorance is bliss", but far too often it has proven to be the best way to achieve bliss...

RE:??Literal end of world...maybe

If you live in Japan, you'd hear about how and when the world is going to end almost everyday on the TV... so I gave up on worrying u_u. Not to mention the meteors that will crash into the earth in 2014 or 2036 predicted by scientists.

Humans might be destroying this planet already anyways. Greenhouse gasses, global warming, decrease in resources, wars, and such.

I'm not saying that I want the world to end on the 10th of September (although it's probably the 11th for me), but if the world had to end, I'd prefer a mini black hole to absorb everything in a second than:
  • The sun exploding
  • The earth exploding
  • Meteors crashing into the earth and knocking it off its axis (even if they don't knock it off, it's still pretty bad
  • WWIII & People nuking each other to death D:
  • Natural disasters

For some reason, I'm not worried at all about the experiment. I find new discoveries exciting.
