since @main is a command, can we "limit" that command somehow?

1 minute should be long enough to avoid spam and yet still short enough to conduct a proper conversation (should there ever be any, god forbid

the other way i think could be an option is to create a value for main by imposing costs. A simple formula such as Base lvl * 100 should be commensurate.
To avoid @main becoming too expensive for newbies who are asking for help decently, we could impose a level limit similar to that of the reset NPC.
If applied, i can see people having more respect/placing more value on @main so that their spam/flame/whatever will be dispersed to pm/guild/local channels. An added bonus to this phenomena would be the reduced chance of customs quests being spoiled on @main...
Furthermore, the strategies above would definitely work much better if used in combination with each other...
