RE: Server Changelog
Octopus Cave Updates
Instance Changes
- Ketser is now the Instance Creation NPC, instead of an Aster. Trivia Time: Ketser first appeared in the 2019 Halloween Quest, helping Roma & Jule investigate the nighttime attacks by checking out the octopus cave.
- The instance now has a 1 hour cooldown.
- Flaws in the official script have been fixed. These allowed repeating the instance before the cooldown was over.
- Instance broadcast dialogues and monster names have been changed slightly to follow their actual database names. Example: Octopus is now called Small Octopus.
- Information regarding requirements, instance cooldown, etc is now more clear.
Monster Stat & Skill Changes
The instance has been made significantly less difficult to finish with lower level chars.
Small Octopus
- Lowered HP slightly
- Drops Shabby Coin Bag instead of Dried Squid Box
- Uses Blind Attack at a higher level
- Added Waterball Lv 2 with a cast time of 2s, cooldown of 5s, cancellable and used at any mode (this is similar to Swordfish with higher int, but swordfish uses lv 3 waterball)
Octopus Leg
- HP was lowered from 100k to 40k, and its exp was changed to keep its exp ratio
- Int lowered from 110 (stronger than Logi's int) to 78 (slightly stronger than Uzhas)
- Waterball increased level from 1 to 2 to compensate for the int loss
- Removed Pulse Strike, and Splash Attack. As compensation, Meteor Assault cannot be interrupted.
- Now drops poor coin bag
Wild Rider
- Now spawns at the Octopus Cave, taking Deepsea Marse's location
- Def lowered slightly, and sight range lowered to 12
- Slightly lowered agi/dex required to dodge/hit it
- Uses Brandish Spear Lv 1 instead of Bash Lv 2
Giant Octopus
- Lowered HP from 850,000 to 425,000 so it's easier to kill than normal mode Malangdo culvert. Exp was lowered as well to keep the ratio.
- No longer uses Earthquake regularly (only for rude attack)
- No longer uses Frost Nova to freeze only melee
- Pulse Strike cooldown decreased from 30s to 15s, at 50% or lower HP
- Lowered cooldown of Blind Attack, Frost Diver and Heaven's Drive.
- Increased drp rate of Poor Coin Bag increased from 15% to 60% drop
- Tentacle drop changed to Shabby Coin Bag 100% drop
Malangdo Island Quests
Malangdo Island now has a plethora of quests! These are recommended for newer players, as they reward E-Grade Coins as well as exp. Please note that links to iRO Wiki are currently meant to be used for general quest steps. Dialogue, requirements, and rewards are different on heRO, and wiki guides will be added to the heRO Wiki in the near future. Below is a list of all available Malangdo Quests.
- Malangdo Island Quest - Learn about the island's inhabitants, as well as the mysterious Star Candy!
- Meo Berry Quest - Dig up berries from Malangdo's soil once a day!
- Crack Repair Quest - Fill up holes in Malangdo's soil daily, but be careful not to fall in!
- Malangdo Ship Cleaning - Every day you can help find awful treats cats hate eating!
- Chef Nyas Quest - Once a day, you can help the angry chef by gathering Lvl 1 Foods in exchange for exp!
- Cat Gang Quest - Assist a gang with stomach problems once a day!
- Play with cat kids - Keep three cat kids entertained!
- Noisy Machine Game - Help the pretend detectives deactivate a "dangerous" machine once a day!
- Compass Game - Run around Malangdo and do some math!
- And, last but not least, you can now exchange Malangdo Cans for Cat Hand credits, in addition to the usual Cat Hand Quests in new world. Apparently, Fluffy Gyaruk himself will reward you with a very special Cat Costume for reaching 100 credits!
Other Changes
- Costume Cat Lace Hairband is now available at Malangdo's Costume Shop. Please note that it has an incorrect description currently, and like all costumes, does not grant any stats.
- Costume Moon Cat Hat is now available at Malangdo's Costume Shop.
- Costume Malangdo Hat now costs E-Grade Coins instead of D-Grade Coins.
- The Dewata Palm Oil daily quest is now available! Obtain Exp and Zeny by shaking up trees!
- Manuk town now has its official flavor NPCs.
- Splendide town now has its official flavor NPCs.
- Hit Enchants and several others can now be disenchanted by the Malangdo Enchanter.
- To prevent bypassing the party requirement of existing instances (Sealed Shrine, Octopus Cave, Malangdo Culvert), in addition to the usual requirement of a 2+ member party, these 2+ members must also be near the instance creation NPC for the instance to be reserved.
- The Valentine's Day Quest has been removed.
- Loverings and Love Balloons no longer spawn in towns.
