Sorry to backtrack to the first post, but.

In regards to the scenario with the largest size drink.

He entered wanted the largest size drink, so expected to pay for a largest size drink. That being the case, the dollar wasn't "Extra" in the sense that it was more than he'd expected to pay, but in the sense that it costs more than the regular sized drink, which he didn't enter expecting to buy.

For example, I pose to you this conversation.

Largest size drink should be about $2.50, I think. "Hello, can I have the largest size drink?"
"Our regular sized drinks are $1.50, but the largest costs a dollar extra. Is that okay?"
"Yep. :3"
"Your total is $2.50."

My logic on it is that he did intend to pay only when told to.??His only intention was to buy a drink.

Of course he intended to, or else he wouldn't have.??Whatever a person does, it is with intent - even if it's someone else's wish with a gun to your head.??It wasn't his original intent, though.

Maybe the autism thing is in the details.??Like Ultima alluded to, there are too many missing qualifiers in the story.??An autistic person does pay attention to a lot of things normal people find irrelevant.??Not that everyone who pays attention to details is autistic, mind you.??It's just one of our many quirks.??Like answering a rhetorical question.??lol
