Trivia: if you are fairly young in your RO life (<10 years) the Alchemist class and the homunculus might seem inseparable. However, back when the 2-2 class were released Alchemist did not yet have access to a Homunculus. It took years before the homunculi got added.

On heRO someone made a poll about them back in july 2007 to ask people's opinion if we should add them or not. Most people said yes, but there were still almost 15% of people who did not want them on heRO! Change is scary

We eventually did end up adding them of course, in March of 2008 according to this old SVN update.
