Addressing Accessibility Issues

heRO is an old server, and there is already a lot of work to do some "catch up" with existing players. One of the most frustrating experience is to be time-gated in waiting for crucial gears that are more than for cosmetics. It can be very discouraging to realize that a powerful gear is only available within certain month/holiday season in heRO. To start addressing these issues, we are starting a V4P revamp to reduce the frustration with time-gated gears by making old V4P gears be more accessible year round, and introduce new ways for players to possibly get a V4P gear year round.

We hope that this will be the first of many changes to make practical gears be more accessible such that players who are willing to put in the effort can get any gears in heRO regardless of the time of the year as much as possible, without resorting to creating tons of new characters.

V4P Revamp

V4P Items introduced prior to 2016 have been retired from the V4P list and is now obtainable via other ingame means. Please refer to the following:

Monthly Items

These purchasable V4P items have been removed to make space in the V4P shop.

Poring Box: already obtainable from multiple Poring monster drops
Dead Branch Box: already obtainable from DB Guy NPC
Delicious Cake: not obtainable regularly, but generally overshadowed by Bless/Agi Scroll
Magnificat Scroll Box: not obtainable regularly, but there are gears that can cast Magnificat so this is generally overshadowed

4 Leaf Clover in Mouth: when you play Hide and Seek with the Mischievous Fairies in Tessera, there is a chance that you may be lucky and get the 4 Leaf Clover in Mouth. This chance is influenced by your base Luck.

New V4P Item

The "V4P Gear Box" is now available at 30 points. This item allows you to get one random current V4P Gears. This way, you have a chance to get any V4P gears from any month without waiting for the whole year. If/When new V4P items are introduced, they will be added to this container as well.

This item will also be available via other means, such as events, Hatter's Old Red Box and Old Purple Box.

(The item currently reads "Past V4P Gear Box". This will be corrected to only say "V4P Gear Box" in the next patch.)

Byorgue drops Mystic Rune at 4.5% up from 3%

Item Changes

All Wings, except for Bee Wings, are now tradeable and can be put into any type of storage (Bee Wings may eventually be tradeable, but currently that cannot be done due to tech restrictions. It is being worked on by T&D already)
Allegiance Wings from ToH will require you to be of the proper Allegiance in order to equip them.
Wrapped Mask have all masks at the same drop rate, making it easier to get better Masks and less likely to get formerly common masks like Mr. Smile. Currently, all items have a drop rate of 2.44% in Wrapped Mask
Wrapped Mask has Mask of the Goddess and Odin's Mask added
Old Purple Box has V4P Gear Box at extremely low chance (0.02%, same chance as getting OCA)
Vanilmirth Hat is now refineable (no reason for it to be unrefineable)

Hatter Changes

Dark Randgris Helm is no longer in Hatter's Old Red Box (already obtainable from Skeiggold)
Coppola is no longer in Hatter's Old Red Box
Wrapped Mask drop rate in Hatter's Old Red Box decreased to 2.5% from 4.5%
V4P Gear Box is now in Hatter's Old Red Box at 2%
Former V4P Gear Lover in Mouth is now in Hatter's Old Red Box at 1%
Former V4P Gear Magical Booster is now in Hatter's Old Red Box at 1%

Nobility Changes

Nobles of every rank will receive 5 Chewy Ricecake and 5 Tasty White Rations every month.

Quest Changes

Some big quests can use some update to make them worth doing in the new 2022 era, and also make some inaccessible hats and Enriched Oridecon/Elunium more accessible besides making new accounts.

Peco Breeding Quest

This quest now has the following new completion rewards when you are given the Pecopeco Hairband:

Pecopeco Wing Ears

This reward is retroactive. Any character that has completed the quest prior to this update can talk to Breeder Djur to pick up your 2022 reward.

Homunculus Quest

This quest has been updated for the following paths:

Amistr: now gives Amistr Cap as well as Drooping Amistr
Filir: now gives Filir's Pinion as well as Hopping Filir
Lif: now gives Costume Lif Doll Hat as well as Lif Doll Hat[1] (this costume is NOT new)
Vanilmirth: now gives Costume Vanilmirth Doll Hat as well as Vanilmirth Hat (this costume is NOT new)
All path: now gives a Poring Card as well

This is not retroactive, since these quests are repeatable.

Lonely Artist

This quest now has the following new completion rewards:

a Well-Chewed Pencil with the character's name

This is not retroactive as the quest is repeatable.

Kiel Dungeon Access Quest (Official)

This quest now has the following new completion rewards from Kiehl Hyre:

2 Large Rough Enriched Ore Box (20 Rough Enriched Ore total)
Kiel's Robotic Schematic
15 Allegiance Points if you belong to any allegiance

This reward is retroactive. Any character that has completed the quest prior to this update can talk to Kiehl Hyre to pick up your 2022 reward.

Thanatos Tower Party Quest

This quest now has the following new completion rewards from Blacksmith Sarah on floor 11:

3 Enriched Oridecon
3 Enriched Elunium
Costume Thanatos Sword (Garment Costume slot)

This reward is retroactive. Any character that has completed the quest prior to this update can talk to Blacksmith Sarah to pick up your 2022 reward.

Sign Quest (Official)

This quest now has the following new rewards from Queen of the Dead when you get Lucifer's Lament:

5 Enriched Oridecon
5 Enriched Elunium
Bloody Angel Wing Ear
30 Allegiance Points if you belong to either Allegiance

This reward is retroactive. Any character that has completed the quest prior to this update can talk to Queen of the Dead to pick up your 2022 reward.

Christmas Quest 2021

The Christmas Quest 2021 is over. We hope that everyone has enjoyed the holiday quest!

Other Bugfixes

Elemental Origin has 4 int as intended
Costume Light Stylish Cap and Costume Dark Stylish Cap should enforce their allegiance requirement properly
Costume Kerchief is now using the proper equipment slot (Upper Headgear)
Hero's Journey should properly send mounted Crusaders to kill Haunted Cookies, just like unmounted Crusaders
An official bug has also been fixed where it's possible to miss out on the Luxurious Keycard and the OCA if you disconnect during your final talk with Kiehl Hyre in the Kiel Dungeon access quest chain
