The Lutia Train Service is in trouble! Help the Train Manager solve problems and to make amends with his father. As a reward, you will be able to use the Lutia Train Service and earn a new headgear.
- Talk to the Spirit in the Kaldheim library
, then click on the interactive Book in the bookshelf directly East of the spirit. Choose the option to Open the book. - Go to the Train Station of Kaldheim
and talk with the Train Manager. He will tell you about the train situation and how snowstorms are affecting the train service. As there is a lack of material to make the repairs and a lack of experience on his part, he will ask you to find his father Hendrik in Veins and deliver a letter requesting advice. - Teleport to Veins and reach a building in the Northwest part of town
and talk with Old man Hendrick. He will express his desire to use this situation as a chance to improve his son's ability to solve problems. He recommends searching for the train blueprints and startings from the basics. Return to the Train Manager with his advice. - Back with the Train Manager, fixing the damage will need to wait. A Magmaring used in the boiler has escaped. You need to bring him back from the last wagon of the train.
- Clicking the Train Door (
) will open a dialog asking if you are ready to fight the Magmaring. After defeating it, you can start an interaction where you learn about the poor working conditions. Click on the door to exit, and go back to the Train Manager. - After learning of the situation, he asks you to set the Magmaring free. Do so, and it will flee to Poring City, earning you 10 Reputation Points with the Porings. Go back to the Train Manager. Your new task is to ask for blueprints and train parts at the city of Einbroch.

- Reach the Einbroch Train Company
via the Einbroch Train Station in the top right corner of the map , then talk with the Receptionist by the counter. She will ask you to go upstairs to talk with the Director in the first room on your left. The Director will provide you with the blueprints and a request form for the train parts. - Return to the Train Manager. He will ask you to inform the mayor about the costs to repair the train. Go to the Town Hall
on the west side of Kaldheim, then follow the North hallway. Talk about Train Repair with Mayor Lorens and he will warn you that the town's treasury is short on money. Talk to him after a minute and he'll tell you a variable amount of money is available for the train repair budget. - Return to the Train Manager. He will tell you the newest cost estimate. You have four possible solutions:
- You can pay the difference between the estimate and the treasury's available funds;
- You can pay the entire estimate;
- You can offer to get some of the items; or
- You can offer to obtain all of the items.
The items required can be seen in the info box, above. Pick whichever you feel most comfortable with.
- If you chose to pay for the replacement parts, return to Einbroch. Speak with the Receptionist and Director at Einbroch Train Company upstairs. Pay him and he'll ship the parts to Kaldheim, which will take at least an hour.
- The Train Manager will now request materials to repair the boiler. Gather the following:
- 3 Flame Heart
- 1 Fragment
- 1 Rough Wind
- Return to the Train Manager. He will tell you that monsters are invading the train during the trip. Go get rid of them. Use the same door on the last wagon, but this time choose the option to Fight Monsters. Defeat the two Palid Vulpines, then return to the Train Manager. He will invite you to a celebration at the Kaldheim Hotel.
- After 10 minutes, the celebration will start at the Kaldheim Hotel

. Follow the warp at the end of the right hallway and you will reach the ballroom. The Train Manager is sitting in a table near the bar, to the left. Once you have spoken to him twice, you will receive your rewards:
- You can return to the Book in the library to read how you changed history. (This has no in-game effect.)
