If your firewall/windows defender is causing problems, you should whitelist the heRO patcher. See this page for instructions.
Linux user: Please download the heRO-Installer, then manually download the heRO-Patcher for Linux.
Then, replace the default patcher with the Linux one since the Installer comes with the Windows patcher by default
